Assembly Attaching the table top stand 1 Secure the terminal adapter (.) to the table top stand base (.) with the screws (M5) (.) (.-1). 2 Attach the speaker to the terminal adapter (.), and secure with the hex-head screws (.) (.-2). Attaching the wall mounting bracket 1 Attach the wall mounting bracket (wall side) (.) to the wall mounting bracket (speaker side) (.), and secure with the supplied screws (for wall mounting bracket) (.) (.- 1). Be sure that the slot in the wall mounting bracket (speaker side) (.) is uppermost. Tip According to where you position the speaker, you can attach the wall mounting bracket (wall side) (.) to the other side of wall mounting bracket (speaker side) (.) (.-2). 2 Attach the terminal adapter (.) to the speaker. Secure the wall mounting hooks (.) to the back of the speaker with the screws (M4) (.) and connect the speaker cord (.) (.-3). 3 Attach the wall mounting bracket to the wall with screws (not supplied) (.-4). 4 Tighten the wall mounting bracket screws after adjusting the angle (.-5). 5 Set the wall mounting hooks (.) on the back of the speaker into the wall mounting bracket (.-6). Notes • Use screws that are suitable for the wall material and strength. As a plaster board wall is especially fragile, attach the screws securely to a beam and fasten them to the wall. Install the speakers on a vertical and flat wall where reinforcement is applied. • Contact a screw shop or installer regarding the wall material or screws to be used. • Sony is not responsible for accidents or damage caused by improper installation, insufficient wall strength, improper screw installation, or natural calamity, etc. Placing the stickers When using the speakers with their stands, you can cover the screw holes for wall mounting on the back of the speakers with the supplied stickers. When installing the front/surround speakers on the wall, you can cover the screw holes on the bottom of the terminal adapters with the supplied stickers. Hooking up the speaker Connect the speaker to the speaker output terminals of an amplifier. Make sure power to all components (included the subwoofer) is turned off before hooking up. Notes (.) • Make sure the plus (+) and the minus (–) terminals on the speakers are matched to the corresponding plus (+) and minus (–) terminals on the amplifier. • Be sure to tighten the screws of the speaker terminals securely as loose screws may become a source of noise. • Make sure all connections are firm. Contact between bare speaker wires at the speaker terminals may cause a short circuit. • For details regarding amplifier connection, refer to the manual provided with your amplifier. Tip Black or black striped wires are minus (–) in polarity, and should be connected to the minus (–) speaker terminals.
