Risk of electric shock! Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate. Do not use if the cord or appliance is damaged. Keep children away from the appliance. Do not allow persons (also children) with restricted physical sensory perception or mental abilities or with lack of experience and knowledge to operate the appliance unless they are supervised or have been instructed in the use of the appliance by somebody who is responsible for their safety. Do not pull the cord over sharp edges or hot surfaces. To prevent injury, a damaged power cord must be replaced by the manufacturer or his customer service or a similarly qualified person. Only our customer service may repair the appliance. Never immerse the motor block in water or hold under running water. Never operate the appliance without a completely assembled blender. Always attach the lid before operating the appliance. If appliances feature a glass jug, the lid must be locked completely. If there is a power cut, the appliance remains switched on and will start up again when the power is restored. Never expose the glass container to severe temperature fluctuations. While working, always hold the lid firmly with one hand. However, do not place hand over the refill opening! Wait until the liquid is lukewarm before pouring it into the container. Preparation/operation The appliance is suitable for preparing the following quantities: Container Solid food Liquids A Hot or frothing liquids Plastic 100 g max. O.75 l To process ice or frozen food, set the rotary switch to position “M”. 6 Robert Bosch Hausgeräte GmbH en Note: Before using the appliance and accessories for the first time, clean thoroughly; see “Cleaning and servicing”. ! Risk of injury from sharp blender blades/rotating drive! Never place fingers in the attached blender. Never operate the appliance without a completely assembled blender or attached lid! Do not remove or attach the blender until the appliance has been switched off. When the appliance has been switched off, the blade continues running briefly. ! Risk of scalding! If processing hot liquids, steam escapes through the funnel in the lid. Add max. hot or frothing liquid as indicated in the above table. Warning! Never operate an empty blender. Never assemble the blender on the motor block. Always work with a completely assembled appliance. Screw the blender fully onto the motor block. Place the appliance on a smooth, clean surface. • Attach the blender and rotate fully into position in a clockwise direction! Do not exceed 90° angle (Fig. 6). • Add ingredients. • Put lid on (Fig. 1): Plastic jug: Put lid on and press down until it engages. Glass jug: Put lid on and lock by turning it clockwise. • Insert the mains plug. • Switch on the appliance (Fig. 4): MMB1... : Move the rotary switch to the desired setting. MMB2... : Extend the rotary switch: press the switch and release. Move the switch to the desired position. • Grip the edge of the lid while operating the blender. Do not grip the feed tube! Adding more ingredients • Set the rotary switch to 0/off. • Remove lid. If using a glass jug, turn lid anti-clockwise and remove. • Add more ingredients. or • Pour in more liquid through the funnel in the lid. or • Pull the funnel out of the lid. Add solid ingredients through the filler tube in the lid. • Set the rotary switch to the desired setting. After blending • Set the rotary switch to 0/off. MMB2 ... also retract the rotary switch: press in the switch and release slowly. • Remove the blender by rotating it in an anti-clockwise direction. Take the lid off the blender jug. Tip: It is recommended that the blender is cleaned immediately after use, see “Cleaning and servicing”. Cleaning and servicing ! Risk of electric shock! Before working on the appliance, always pull out the mains plug! I Risk of injury from sharp blades! Do not touch blender blades with bare hands. Clean them with a brush. Warning! Surfaces may be damaged. Do NOT use abrasive cleaning agents. Wipe the motor compartment with a damp cloth only. If required, use a little washing-up liquid. Tip: Add a little water and a few drops of washing-up liquid to the attached blender jug. Select the “M” setting for several seconds. Pour out the water and rinse the blender jug with fresh water.
