If the appliance is switched on with a discharged battery, the appliance is switched off by a protective circuit. The LED 4 flashes. Following automatic disconnection, stop pressing the On button 2. The battery may be damaged. Important information Before using the appliance for the first time, fully charge the base unit (approx. 2 hours). When the appliance has been inserted, the LED 4 comes on. The battery is automatically tested. Battery empty: LED comes on and goes out at the end of the charging process. Battery charge status While the appliance is being used, the battery charge status is displayed by the LED 4. When the appliance is not being used, the battery charge status can be displayed by pressing the safety button 3 (Fig. 6). Battery full: LED is lit Battery half full: LED flashes slowly Battery almost LED flashes quickly empty: Warning! Stop using the appliance if the battery is almost empty. Insert the base unit into the charging station and fully charge the battery. Blender foot For blending mayonnaise, sauces, drinks, baby food and for cutting onions, ice, cooked fruit and vegetables. Note: The hand blender is not suitable for preparing mashed potatoes. • Place the blender foot 5 on the base unit 1 and rotate in an anti-clockwise direction (Fig. 7). • Put the food in the blender jug 8. • Firmly hold the hand blender and jug. To prevent the food from splashing, do not switch the appliance on or off until the blender foot has been inserted into the food. After using the appliance/cleaning Warning! Never immerse the base unit in water and do not clean in the dishwasher. Do not use a steam cleaner! Cleaning the base unit • Remove the blender foot from the base unit. • Wipe the base unit and charging station with a damp cloth and then rub dry. • The blender jug can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Note: If processing e.g. red cabbage, the plastic parts will become discoloured by a red film which can be removed with a few drops of cooking oil. Cleaning the blender foot • Clean the blender foot in the dishwasher or with a brush under running water. • Dry the blender foot in an upright position (blender blade face up) so that any trapped water can run out. Recipes and tips Mayonnaise 1 egg (egg yolk and egg white) 1 tbs. lemon juice or vinegar 200-250 ml oil Salt, pepper to taste Ingredients must be at the same temperature! • Put the ingredients in the jug. • Place the hand blender on the base of the jug and blend the ingredients until the mixture emulsifies. • Slowly raise the switched on blender as far as the upper edge of the mixture and lower again until the mayonnaise is ready. Vegetable soup 300 g potatoes 200 g carrots 1 small stick of celery 2 tomatoes 1 onion 50 g butter 2 l water Salt, pepper to taste • Skin and seed the tomatoes. • Chop up cleaned and washed vegetables and sauté in the hot butter. • Add water and salt. • Leave to cook for a good 20-25 min. • Take the pan off the cooker. • Purée the soup in the pan with the blender. • Season with salt and pepper. Important information After using the appliance, always recharge in the charging station. Blended milk drinks 1 glass of milk 6 large strawberries or 10 raspberries or 1 banana (sliced) • Put the ingredients in the jug and blend. • Add sugar to taste. Tip: For a milk shake add a scoop of ice cream or use very cold milk. The Directive paves the way for effective EU-wide withdrawal and utilization of waste appliances. Please ask your dealer or inquire at your local authority about current means of disposal. Batteries do not belong in the household waste and must be disposed of separately. Recycle batteries in accordance with directive 91/157/EWG. Take the battery out of the appliance.
