Before first use Thoroughly clean the par ts that will come into contact with food before you use the appliance for the first time (see chapter ‘Cleaning’). Mounting the holder to the wall Note: Make sure you leave enough room above the holder to be able to remove the hand blender. Also leave enough room below the holder to allow the hand blender to hang freely. Mount the holder vertically to the wall as shown in the figure. Usesuitable screws and plastic wall plugs to mount the holder (Fig. 2). 2 3 1 2 3 Attach the blender bar to the motor unit (‘click’). (Fig. 3) Place the hand blender in the holder.Then wind up the cord and placeit in the cord storage compartment. (Fig. 4) Preparing for use Let hot ingredients cool down before you chop them or pour theminto the beaker (max. temperature 80°C). Cut large ingredients into pieces of approx. 2cm before you process them. Assemble the appliance properly before you put the plug in the wallsocket. Using the appliance Hand blender The hand blender is intended for : -blending fluids, e.g. dair y products, sauces, fruit juices, soups, mixed drinks and shakes. -mixing soft ingredients, e.g. pancake batter or mayonnaise. -pureeing cooked ingredients, e.g. for making baby food. 1 2 3 4 Attach the blender bar to the motor unit (‘click’) (Fig. 3). Immerse the blade guard completely in the ingredients (Fig. 5). Press the normal or turbo speed button to switch on the appliance. Move the appliance slowly up and down and in circles to blend the ingredients (Fig. 6). Chopper (HR1366 only) The chopper is intended for chopping ingredients such as nuts, meat, onions, hard cheese, boiled eggs, garlic, herbs, dr y bread etc. The blades are very sharp, so be very careful when you handle the blade unit. Be especially careful when you remove the blade unit from the chopper bowl, when you empty the chopper bowl and during cleaning. 1 Put the chopper blade unit in the chopper bowl (Fig. 7). 2 Put the ingredients in the chopper bowl. 3 Put the coupling unit onto the chopper bowl (Fig. 8). 4 Fasten the motor unit onto the chopper bowl (‘click’) (Fig. 9). 5 Press the normal or turbo speed button to switch on the appliance. -If the ingredients stick to the wall of the chopper bowl, use a spatula or add liquid to loosen them. -Always let the appliance cool down after you have used it to chop meat. Whisk The whisk is intended for whipping cream, whisking egg whites, desser ts etc. Connect the whisk to the coupling unit (Fig. 10). Connect the coupling unit to the motor unit (‘click’) (Fig. 11). Put the ingredients in a bowl. 1 2 3 Tip: Use a large bowl for the best result. 4 Immerse the whisk completely in the ingredients.To avoid splashing, start processing at normal speed (Fig. 12). 5 Continue with turbo speed after approx. 1 minute. Cleaning Do not immerse the motor unit and the whisk coupling unit in water. 1 Unplug the appliance and detach the accessories. 2 Wipe the motor unit and the whisk coupling unit with a moist cloth. 3 Clean the beaker, the chopper bowl, the chopper blade unit, thechopper coupling unit and the whisk without coupling unit in the dishwasher or in hot water with some washing-up liquid. We advise you to remove the rubber ring from the chopper bowl before you clean it. Note:You can also clean the blade unit of the blender bar and the whisk while they are still attached to the motor unit.To do so, immerse the blender bar or the whisk in hot water with some washing-up liquid and let the appliance run for a while. 2 Environment -Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in at an official collection point for recycling. By doing this, you help to preser ve the environment (Fig. 13).
