Please pay particular attention to the safety information. • Incorrect operation and improper handling can lead to malfunctions of the appliance and injuries to the user, • Home use only. Do not use for industrial purposes. • Unplug the appliance from power supply when not in use. • Keep the base unit away from damp and protect from splashes. • Do not immerse the appliance, cord or plug in water or other liquids. If it has happened, remove the plug immediately and then have the unit checked by an expert before using it again. • Do not operate the appliance if the cord or plug show signs of damage or the appliance has been otherwise damaged. In such cases take the appliance to a specialist for checking and repair if necessary. • Ensure that the cord does not hang over sharp edges and keep it away from hot surfaces. • Only pull it out of the power supply by the plug, not by the cord. • Place the appliance on a stable level and heat-resistant surface, away from hot objects (e.g. hotplates), open flames; do not place under curtains or low wall-cupboards. • You should never leave the appliance unattended during use. • Keep the appliance away from children. • Use the kettle only with the base unit supplied, and do not use the base unit for any other purposes. • Never remove the kettle from its base unit while in operation. Switch the appliance off first. • Take care to close the lid properly before switching on, Otherwise, the appliance will not switch off automatically and hot water may overflow. • The kettle is intended for water heating only, and is not to be used for any other liquids. BEFORE USE • Remove all packing material from the kettle. • Before connecting of the kettle check that voltage indicated on the rating label corresponds the mains voltage in your home. • Place the filter. • Fill the kettle with cool water up to the "MAX" mark and boil it. Empty the kettle. The appliance is ready for use. INSTRUCTION FOR USE FILTER PLACING • Open the lid by pressing on the lid open button. • Place the filter between the two grooves near the spout at the front of the kettle. • Ensure that the filter is pressed down to the bottom of the grooves and fits correctly then close the lid. NOTE: Never leave the filter loose in the kettle. Never remove the filter while the kettle contains hot water, FILLING • Remove the kettle from the base unit. • You can fill the kettle with water via the spout or opening the lid. • Do not fill with less than 0.5 liters of water (below to "MIN" mark) to prevent the heating element running dry while operating. • Do not fill with more than 1.7 liters of water (up to "MAX" mark). Avoid overfilling to prevent the water spilling out during the boiling process. SWITCHING ON • After filling your kettle with water, place the kettle on the base unit. • Connect plug to power supply and press On/Off switch. The appliance will begin to operate and the inner indicator light will come on. SWITCHING OFF • When the water boils, the kettle will switch off automatically and the indicator light will go off. NOTE: This appliance has a safety system, which automatically switches off the heating element if the appliance is inadvertently switched when empty, or if it boils dry. In this case, let the appliance cool down completely, before filling with water again. SWITCHING ON AGAIN • The kettle can be switched on again after cooling down about 15-20 seconds automatically, while the kettle has been switched off automatically. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE DESCALING • Always remove the plug from the power supply before cleaning and let the appliance cool down completely. • Clean the outside of the kettle and the base unit with a soft damp cloth, then wipe with a dry cloth. Do not use scouring materials. • Make cleaning the kettle from the scale regularly. Use special cleaners agent, which can be obtained from specialist shops and follow the instructions given. • Before switching on the kettle make sure, that the outside surface of the appliance and all electric contacts are absolutely dry. FILTER CLEANING • Remove the filter out of the kettle. • Place under a tap water and rub gently any remaining by soft brush (not included). • Replace the filter between the two grooves near the spout at the front of the kettle.
