Do not operate appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliances to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment. 5. Do not use the unit outdoors. 6. Do not let cord hang over edge of table, bench or counter. Also do not let cord touch hot surfaces, including the stove. 7. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected. 8. The kettle is only to be used with the stand provided. 9. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO OPERATE 1. To fill the kettle, remove it from the power base and open the lid by pressing the lid release button. 2. The kettle should only be used for boiling water and is not suitable for boiling other liquid or for other ingredients. First boil a full kettle of water to clean the kettle. If the water level is too low the kettle will switch off too early, whereas if the water level is too high the water will boil over. When filing the kettle, always remove it from the base to avoid spilling water on the base. 4. Ensure that the lid is closed and locked firmly in place. Place the kettle firmly onto the power base. Plug the power cord into electric outlet. 5. Switch the kettle on by pressing the on-off switch. The pilot lamp will light up. As soon as the water boils, the on-off button will automatically switch to the "off" position. 6. If desired, the water can be brought to the boil again by pressing the button a second time. However, this should not be done for at least 30 seconds after the kettle has automatically switch off. 7. If the kettle is switched on by accident when it is empty, the boiling-dry protection will automatically switch if off again.
