AC voltage selector 120 – 230 V MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT SAFETY MEASURES • Before using your electric kettle please read these instructions attentively • The two-position AC voltage selector is located on the kettle lower part. Before using the kettle for the first time, make sure that its operating voltage corresponds to that of the local power supply. • The power cord is equipped with a “europlug”; it should be connected to the power socket with a reliable grounding contact. • To avoid the risk of fire, do not use power adapters when connecting the kettle to the power socket. • Do not operate the kettle without water. • Use your kettle only to boil water, never warm up or boil in it other liquids. • Watch that the water level in the kettle is not above the MAX mark. • Put the kettle on a flat stable surface. • Do not operate the kettle very close to the sources of heat or open flame. • Do not leave children without supervision near the working kettle. • Do not allow the power cord to hang over the table edges or to contact any hot surfaces. • Do not open the lid when boiling water. • Take care not to be burned with a hot steam while the water is boiling. • Do not touch the kettle’s hot surfaces, grasp it only by its handle. • Be careful when carrying the kettle filled with hot water. • In order to prevent electric shock, do not immerse the kettle in water or other liquid. • Unplug the kettle from the power socket when not in use or before cleaning. • Do not place the kettle into a dishwasher. • Before removing the kettle for storage, disconnect it from the power supply, empty the water and let the kettle cool down. • Periodically check the power cord and plug condition. Do not use the kettle if its body or the power cord is damaged. • Do not repair the device yourself. If any malfunction occurs, apply to the authorized service center. • This electric kettle is intended only for domestic use. KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS Before the first use: • Make sure that the AC voltage selector (7) is set to the position corresponding to the voltage of the local power supply. • Open the kettle lid (2). • Fill the kettle with water up to the MAX level, close the lid, plug the kettle to the power outlet, boil the water and pour it out. Repeat this procedure two times. Using the kettle • Set the voltage selector (7) into the ply voltage. • Fill the kettle with water up to the MAX level, which corresponds to 0.5 liter. • Plug the kettle cord into the wall socket, the Power indicator (4) will light up and the heating element will switch on. • When the water has boiled, the indicator (4) will go down and the heating element will switch off. • To switch on the kettle again, press the Reset button (3). • After using the kettle, unplug it from the socket. NOTE: -To switch the kettle on again using the Reset button (3), some time is needed for the kettle to return to its operating condition. -The kettle has got a boil-dry protection. If you switch on the kettle with too little or without water, it will switch off automatically. In such case unplug the kettle and allow it to cool down for some time before filling it with water again. Cleaning and maintenance • Before cleaning, unplug the kettle from the power outlet, empty the water and allow the kettle to cool down. • Wipe the kettle exterior with a damp cloth. Use soft cleaners to remove contamination, do not use abrasive cleaners or metal pads. • Do not immerse the kettle into water or another liquid. • Do not place the kettle into a dishwasher. Removing scale • Scale formed inside the kettle affects the water taste qualities and worsens heat exchange between water and the heating element, that can lead to the element overheating and faster failure. • To remove the scale, fill the kettle to the maximum level with water- vinegar solution of 2:1. Boil the liquid and allow it to stand overnight. Discard the liquid in the morning, fill the kettle with water up to the maximum level, boil the water and empty it. • You may use special descaling agents intended to remove scale from electric kettles.
