Fitting to Two Seater Chariot Trailers 2.1 Preliminary steps 2.1.1 Fitting the Telescopic Tube The telescopic tube is secured at the front to the side frame tubes. There are already screws inserted in the threaded bushes for securing the telescopic tube to the Chariot CTS two seaters. Locate the aluminium profile of the telescopic tube behind the side tube of the basic unit (in other words to the inside, In the forward side frame tubes there are holes with threaded bushes for fitting the telescopic tube. Please use only these screws – the screws which you might find supplied with the baby seats are no longer required and do not fit. Please note: These are imperial thread size screws (in inches), so standard metric thread screws are not suitable as replacements. 2 Final position facing the passenger compartment) and align the holes of the frame tube and aluminium profile. Make sure that you insert the screw exactly perpendicular to the frame tube so that it properly engages the threaded bush. Screw in using a suitable screwdriver, but do not tighten. Then screw in the screw on the other side. Only then should you tighten both screws. Please note: Always screw on the telescopic tube to the side of the frame tube that is opposite the threaded bush, in other words from the inside of the vehicle. This results in the threaded bush being pulled into the frame tube hole, meaning that it cannot work loose. Fitted telescopic tube, shown from the front. This step should only be carried out if you want to fit the baby seat in the centre. For centre-fitting the fastex buckles on the two ends of the lap belts need to be swapped round. After swapping them round, thread the fastex buckles as shown in the illustration. For side-fitting, use the belt ends of the lap belt of the side in question. For fitting in the centre, use the central belt ends of both lap belts. Correct positioning of the baby seat. Experience has shown that it helps if more or less the following overall belt length adjustment is made (measured from the point of attachment to the baby seat to the point of attachment to the trailer seat): On the Comfort model - approximately 12 cm On the Cabriolet and Cheetah2 models - 15 to 16 cm Illustration A Now lay both straps that are at the front end of the baby seat around the fitted telescopic tube, thread the ends through the fasteners, as in the top right hand picture, and pull the straps tight.
