Playing a Disc Press the OPEN/CLOSE button. Place a disc gently into the tray with the disc’s label facing up. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to close the disc tray. The DVD Recorder & VCR does not play discs automatically after being powered on initially. When the DVD Recorder & VCR is powered on and a disc is in the tray, the unit will be activated and wait in stop status. Press the PLAY( ) button to start playback. Press the STOP( ) button to stop playback. When you stop playing back a disc, the DVD Recorder & VCR remembers where you stopped, so when you press PLAY ( ) button again, it will pick up where you left off . (Unless the disc is removed or the DVD Recorder & VCR is unplugged, or if you press the STOP ( ) button twice.) Do not move your DVD Recorder & VCR while playing, as this may cause damage to the disc. Make sure to press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open or close the disc tray. Do not push the disc tray while it is being opened or closed, as this may cause a product malfunction. Do not place foreign materials on or in the disc tray. Some functions may perform differently or be disabled depending on the disc type. If this occurs, refer to the instructions written on the disc case. Be especially careful that children’s fingers are not caught between the disc tray and the tray chassis when it closes. After turning power on, it will take a few seconds until the DVD Recorder & VCR operates. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ M ` ` ` ` ` 1. . . ~ ~ ~ . M ` J ` ` ` ` ` ` ` USing THE DiSC MEnU & TiTLE MEnU Some type of discs contain a dedicated menu system that allows you to select special functions for title, chapter, audio track, subtitle, film preview, information on characters, etc. For DVD-ViDEO Disc Z Disc Menu : Press the DiSC MEnU button to enter the disc menu of the disc. • Move to the setup menu related to playback operation. • You can select audio language and subtitle etc. provided by the disc. Title Menu : Press the TiTLE MEnU button to move to the title menu of the disc. • Use this button if the disc contains more than one title. Some discs may not support the title menu functionality. For DVD-raM/±rW/±r Disc XCVKL Title List Press the TiTLE LiST button. Title List is a list of previously recorded programmes. If a title is deleted, that title cannot be played again. Play List (DVD-raM/-rW(Vr)/-r(Vr)) Press the PLaYLiST button. A playlist is a custom-made list of titles. When one playlist is played, only the titles within the playlist will play and then stop. Even if that playlist is deleted, the original recording will not be deleted. USing THE PLaYBaCK rELaTED BUTTOnS Searching through a Chapter or Track ZXCVBKLD During play, press the SEarCH ( ) buttons on the remote control. Each time you press the SEarCH button, the playback speed will change as follows. DVD-VIDEO/DVDRAM/± RW/±R ) FF1/( FR1 .) FF2/( FR2 ) FF3/( FR3 .) FF1/( FR1 MPEG4 ) FF1 .) FF2 .) PLaYBaCK English _ 48_ playback playback Skipping Chapters, Titles or Markers ZXCVBKLD During play, press the SKIP ( ) buttons on the remote control. If you press the SKIP ( ) button, it moves to the beginning of the chapter or Title or marker Pressing the button once again within 3 seconds returns to the beginning of the previous chapter or Title or marker (DVD-RAM/-RW(VR mode)) If you press the SKIP ( ) button, it moves to the next chapter or track. (DVD-RAM/-RW(VR mode)) Slow Motion Play ZXCVKLD In pause mode, press the SEAR CH ( ) buttons on the remote control. If you press the SEAR CH ( ) button, * Slow 3 . * Slow 2 . * Slow 1 If you press the SEAR CH ( ) button, & Slow 3 . & Slow 2 . & Slow 1 To return to normal speed playback, press the PLAY ( ) button. Slow motion can play only in the forward direction on MPEG4 discs. Step Motion Play ZXCVKLD During pause mode, press the F.ADV/SKIP buttons on the remote control. Each time the button is pressed, a new frame will appear. To return to normal speed playback, press the PLAY ( ) button. No sound is heard during STEP or SLOW mode. Skipping ahead 30 seconds ZXCVKL In play mode, press F.ADV/SKIP button to skip ahead exactly 30 seconds. Using the ANYKEY button The AN YKEY functions allows you to easily search for a desired scene by accessing title, chapter, track and time.
