Do not place objects on them. •Do not use the following discs: – Discs with exposed adhesive from removed stickers or labels (rented discs, etc). – Discs that are badly warped or cracked. – Irregularly shaped discs, such as heart shapes. •Do not place in the following areas: – In direct sunlight. – In very dusty or humid areas. – Near a heater. – Locations susceptible to significant differences in temperature (condensation can occur). – Where static electricity or electromagnetic waves occur. •To protect discs from scratches and dirt, return them to their cases or cartridges when you are not using them. Note about using a DualDisc The digital audio content side of a DualDisc does not meet the technical specifications of the Compact Disc Digital Audio (CD-DA) format so play may not be possible. The connection will allow the video cassette recorder to be used for playback when this unit is turned off. For optimum operation, it is recommended that this unit be connected as shown below. ¦When the unit is not to be used for a long time To save power, unplug it from the household AC outlet. This unit consumes a small amount of power, even when it is turned off (approx. 8.2 W). Do not connect the unit through a video cassette recorder Video signals fed through video cassette recorders will be affected by copyright protection systems and the picture will not be shown correctly on the television. •When connecting to a television with a built in VCR, connect to the input terminals on the television side, not the VCR side. ¦Quick Start (. page 32) A few seconds after turning on the unit, you can start recording to DVD-RAM.
