If “Face Detection” is turned on when you half-press the shutter button, focusing is performed in the area where a face is detected. • Shooting with Continuous AF can cause vibration and noise to occur due to lens operation. This does not indicate malfunction. Advanced Settings 72 Reducing the Effects of Camera and Subject Movement (Anti Shake) Procedure [r] (REC) * [MENU] * REC Tab * Anti Shake You can turn on the camera’s Anti Shake feature to reduce image blur due to subject movement or camera movement when shooting a moving subject using telephoto, when shooting a fast-moving subject, or when shooting under dim lighting conditions. Your digital camera is equipped with a CCD shift type camera shake correction feature and a high-sensitivity anti image blur feature. Turns off Anti Shake settings • Only Camera Stabilizer can be used during movie recording. • ISO sensitivity, aperture, and shutter speed do not appear on the monitor screen when you half-press the shutter button while “D Auto” or “S Image AS” is selected. These values will appear briefly, however, in the preview image that is displayed immediately after you shoot a snapshot. • The ISO sensitivity setting (page 42) must be “AUTO” for “S Image AS” to work. • Shooting while “D Auto” or “S Image AS” is selected can cause an image to appear somewhat coarser than normal and can cause slight deterioration of image resolution. • Anti Shake may not be able to eliminate the effects of camera or subject movement when movement is severe. •“A Camera AS” may not work properly when the camera is mounted on a tripod. Either turn off Anti Shake or select “S Image AS”.
