Proceed as follows to select another country: 34 OperatingtheGoPal® navigationsoftware 1. Tap the Country button. A menu list of all of the countries whose map material is installed on the navigation system then opens. 2. Tap on the desired country entry: The selection is accepted. Note With the help of the GoPal® Assistant you can select which map material is saved on your navigation device. If necessary, you can install more map material on the external memory card or to the flash memory of your navigation device at any time. For further information, see Manual actions for data exchange. • Entering the postcode or place name The destination can be selected either by entering the postcode or the place name: The entry of the postcode is automatically transferred to the place and vice versa. Proceed as follows to enter the destination using the postcode or the name: 1. Tap Postcode or Town. Depending on the selection... o ...a keyboard to enter numbers and special symbols (postcode) appears or... o ...a keyboard to enter characters (place name) appears. 2. Type the first number/character. For the place name, the keyboard is automatically adapted and only makes available the buttons permitted when entering the next character: All non- permitted buttons are greyed out and cannot be used. After entering the first character, four buttons appear in the area between the name field on the upper edge and the keyboard: o Buttons 1 -3 represent possible destinations corresponding to what has been entered so far. This preselection is readjusted after each entry. As soon as one of the preselections corresponds to your desired destination, you can select it directly by tapping the relevant button. o You can use the fourth button More hits to open a list of all of the available preselection destinations in a separate window. Browse through the list using the and buttons and tap the desired entry: The selection is accepted. If you do not want to make a selection, return to the character entry screen with the button. The Display on map button allows you to have the preselection destinations displayed on an overview map: The zoom level in the map is adjusted in such a way that up to four destinations from the preselection list can be displayed on a map at once. Browse the list using the buttons and and tap the desired entry: The selection is accepted and the selection list closes. Using the Hide map button, the map display closes and you return to the preselection list without a selection. If you want to refine your entry, return to the character entry screen using the button.
