The mounting clip must be a minimum of 3" Capillary from bottom of fireplace to prevent crimping Do Not Crimp of capillary. Once you have decided on a Capillary location, clean the area thoroughly. Remove Figure 44 - Positioning the Thermostat the paper backing from the adhesive on back Sensing Bulb in the Vertical Position of mounting clip. Press the clip into the new with the Capillary at the Bottom location so that the thermostat sensing bulb will be positioned vertically with the capillary at the bottom (see Figure 44). Slide the thermostat sensing bulb into the clip. IMPORTANT: Do not crimp capillary.
