Pull the cutting chain away from the guide bar.(P) The gap should measure approx 2-3mm 2. To adjust the tension, slightly loosen the hex socket head bolt (R) with the hexagon drive tool provided. 3. The gap will automatically be adjusted to the correct measurement by the tension adjusting spring (N2) 4. Tighten the hex socket head bolt, ensuring the gap measurment is correct. (S) ENGLISH - 1 Removing and Fitting the Cutting Chain Important • Ensure that the Sabre Saw is switched off and disconnected from the Power Pack • Always wear gloves when removing or fitting the cutting chain. • Use only a guide bar with bar tip designed for this product. • In order to prevent kickback, do not remove the bar tip or replace the guide bar with one without a bar tip. Removing the Cutting Chain 1. Loosen the screws (K1) on the sprocket guard (K2) with a screwdriver and remove the sprocket guard. 2. Loosen the hex socket head bolt (L1) with the hexagon drive tool provided and remove the bolt (L1) and spacer washer (L2). 3. Push the guide bar (L3) against the tension adjusting spring (L4) and remove the guide bar and chain. Fitting the Cutting Chain 1. Fit the chain over the guide bar with the bar tip upermost (M1), ensuring that the cutters are facing the revolving direction (M2) 2. Fit the chain over the sprocket (N1) and fit the concave end of the guide bar against the tension adjusting spring (N2). 3. Insert the hex socket head bolt (L1) through the spacer washer (L2), and guide bar (L3) and tighten with the hexagon drive tool provided, ensuring the guide bar is secure. 4. Fit the sprocket guard (K2) and tighten the screws (K1) ensuring the sprocket guard is secure. Sharpening the Cutting Chain • Ensure that the Sabre Saw is switched off and disconnected from the Power Pack • Always wear gloves when sharpening the cutting chain • SHARPEN THE CUTTING CHAIN TO THE SPECIFICATIONS ILLUSTRATED IN PICTURE T Filing the cutters 1. Use a round file 4mm in outer diameter to file the cutters. Apply it to the cutter so that it will be angled 30 degrees to the guide bar and protrude 1/5 of the outer diameter from the tip of the cutter. Hold the file level and push it away from you while filing. Be careful not to touch the cutters with the file when pulling it back toward you. Filing the depth gauges 1. Use a flat file to file the depth gauges. Hold the file level while filing. Round off the front corner of the depth gauge to maintain its original shape. • Immerse the cutting chain in oil and wash off any filing chips and sawdust.
