It’s ideal for snowmobile, camping, motorcycle and boat trailers. The Submersible Trailer Lighting Kit’s design conforms to applicable U.S. FMVSS 108 and Canadian CMVSS safety standards. Designed for 12 Volt Systems. KIT INCLUDES: (2) Eight function red stop/tail/turn lights • (1) Right/Curb side light (green/brown wires) • (1) Left/Road side light (yellow/brown wires and license plate illuminator) (1) License plate bracket (1) 25' (7.6 m) Wiring harness • (1) Short piece (for towing vehicle wiring) • (1) Long piece (for trailer light installation and wiring) Hardware Kit • (3) Blue snap quick connectors • (6) Wire clips • (2) Ring terminals • (2) Phillips head grounding screws • (4) 7/16" (11.1 mm) Serrated fl ange nuts • (4) Gray wire nuts TOOLS AND MATERIAL REQUIRED • Phillips head screwdriver • Drill and suitable drill bits • Electrical tape or flexible waterproof caulk NOTE: This kit may not contain all of the lights required by the Department of Transportation depending on the type of trailer. Please check with your dealer concerning additional lighting requirements. If your towing vehicle has rear turn signal separate from the stop light, an electronic turn signal converter from an automotive accessory supplier will be required to install this light kit. TOWING VEHICLE WIRING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Disconnect the vehicle battery to avoid short circuits or electrical shock. 2. Using the short wiring harness, attach the white wire to a ground location on towing vehicle using (1) ring terminal and (1) mounting screw. 3. Connect the yellow wire to the driver’s side stop and turn signal circuit with (1) blue snap quick connector. 4. Connect the green wire to the passenger’s side stop and turn signal circuit using (1) blue snap quick connector. 5. Connect the brown wire to the tail lamp circuit using (1) blue snap quick connector. 6. Seal all connections with standard electrical tape, liquid electrical tape or flexible waterproof caulk for extra protection. TRAILER LIGHT INSTALLATION AND WIRING INSTRUCTIONS 1. At each rear mounting location for the lights, drill (2) 1/4" (6.3 mm) holes on 2" (5.1 cm) centers. 2. Make sure side marker reflectors are facing out to the side of the trailer. Using left/road side light, insert mounting bolt heads into the slots provided on the rear of the housing. Feed the wiring and mounting bolts through the license plate bracket holes and mount to the trailer using locking nuts. Mount the light with the green wire on the right hand, passenger side, of the trailer. 3. Attach white wire from lamps to a good ground. 4. Keeping the plug end of the long wire harness at the tongue of the trailer, attach the white wire to a good ground on the trailer using (1) ring terminal and (1) Phillips head grounding screw. 5. Run yellow/brown wire along the driver’s side of the trailer frame. Clip (3) wire clips to the trailer frame and attach wiring to these clips. Be sure wiring does not hang down or drag on the ground. 6. Attach the yellow wire from the wiring harness to the yellow wire from the left/road side light using (1) gray wire nut. 7. Attach the brown wire from the wiring harness to the brown wire from the left/road side light using (1) gray wire nut (for left hand tail light). 8. Now attach the remaining green/brown wires on the passenger side of the trailer frame as in step 5. 9. Attach the green wire from the wiring harness to the green wire from the right/curb side light and secure with (1) gray wire nut (for right hand stop function). 10. Attach the brown wire from the wiring harness to the brown wire from the right/curb side light and secure with (1) gray wire nut (for right hand tail light). 11. After confirming all wiring is correct, reconnect battery. 12. With the trailer wiring connector plugged into the connector from the vehicle wiring system, turn on headlights. Both tail light and corresponding side markers should come on. The brighter stop lights should come on only when the brake pedal is depressed or when the turn signal is activated (key must be in “on” position).
