For MONO transmission or weak, noisy reception, put the BAND switch into FM position to improve the sound quality. Compact disc operation_ • Set FUNCTION switch to CD/USB/SD position. • Open the CD door by pressing on the “PUSH OPEN” field. Put a CD into the CD compartment with the label side upwards and close the CD door. Display shows the total number of tracks. Play/pause mode • Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start play. • Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to pause at any track when playing. • To stop the CD, press the STOP button. Display shows the total number of tracks. • To remove the CD from the unit open the CD door. • Always press STOP button before opening the CD compartment. • To turn off the CD player set FUNCTION switch to TAPE (OFF) position. Skip and search mode During playback you can use W* or to select a particular track. • If you have selected a track number in the stop or pause position, press to start playback. • Press once briefly for the next track, or press repeatedly until the desired track number appears in the display. • Press W* once briefly to return to the beginning of a current track. • Press W* more than once briefly for a previous track. Finding a passage within a track 1 Press and hold down W* or . The CD is played at high speed and low volume. 2 When you recognize the passage you want release W* or Normal playback resumes. Repeat mode • Press the REPEAT button once for single track repeat playing. “REPEAT” symbol will be indicated on the display. • Press twice for all track repeat playing. “REPEAT ALL” symbol will be indicated on the display. • To cancel repeat play, press REPEAT button until the repeat indicator turn off. Program mode • Up to 32 tracks can be programmed for disc play in any order or the same track can be repeated up to 32 times. Before use, press the STOP button. 4 • Press the PROG button. “PROG” symbol is flashing on the display. • Select a desired track by using the W* or buttons. • Press PROG button to confirm. “P02” on the display shows you that you now may store track2. • Repeat steps described above to enter additional memories into the program if necessary. • When all the desired tracks have been programmed, press PLAY/PAUSE button to play the disc in the order you have programmed. Note: • You can erase the contents of the memory by: - opening the CD door - selecting RADIO source - pressing STOP button twice during playback or in the stop position. Note: Good quality sound is guaranteed only when playing licensed CDR/CDRW discs. Intro mode Press INTRO button to listen to first 10 seconds of each track. MP3 operation • Set FUNCTION switch to CD/USB/SD position. • Open the CD door by pressing on the “PUSH OPEN” field. Put a MP3 into the CD compartment with the label side upwards and close the CD door. • In MP3 playback mode all functions are available as in CD operation mode. Note: Good quality sound is guaranteed only when playing licensed MP3 discs. USB / SD-MMC flash memory playback • Slide the FUNCTION selector to CD/USB/SD position. • Press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE button for 2 sec. • Plug in USB Memory Stick into USB Port or insert a SD or MMC card with label facing up into the card slot. • The display will show either USB or SD and total track number. • Press PLAY/PAUSE to start music playing. • Press the W* or to select tracks. • Repeat function can be selected identical to CD/MP3 playback. • Press STOP to end playback. Note: Due to fast changing IT technology, this unit may not be compatible with some USB or SD/MMC flash storage device. 5 Cassette recorder operation Cassette playback • Slide the FUNCTION switch to TAPE position. • Press the STOP/EJECT button to open the cassette compartment. • Insert a cassette with tape open upwards and push the cassette door to close the cassette compartment. The full tape reel should be on the right side. • Press the PLAY button to start the playing. • Press the PAUSE button to pause the playing. If you press it again the playback will continue. • Press the STOP/EJECT button to stop the playing, press the button again to open the cassette door and you can take out the tape. • When the tape plays to the end, playing will be stopped automatically. • Fast Forward and Rewind: You can run forward and rewind the stopped tape. Use the ^ button for fast forward and the W* button for fast rewind. When you have reached the desired tape position, press the button to stop the process. Never use the fast forward or rewind functions during playback. This may cause damage to the tape. Recording Recording from radio • Set the FUNCTION switch to RADIO position. • Tune to the desired station by turning the TUNING control regulator. • Insert a blank cassette into cassette compartment with tape open upwards. • Press the PAUSE button, then RECORD button.
