The appliance plug will fit into apolarized extension cord only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the extension cord, reverse the plug. If the plug still does not fit, obtain a correct polarized extension cord. Apolarized extension cord will require the use of a polarized wall outlet. This plug will fit into thepolarized wall outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. Ifthe plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper wall outlet. Do notchange the equipment plug, extension cord receptacle, or extension cord plug in any way. 1. Avoid Dangerous Environment – Don’t use hedge trimmers in damp or wet locations. 2. Don’t use in rain. 3. Keep ChIldren Away – All visitors should be kept at a distance from work area. 4. Dress Properly – Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. They can be caught in moving parts. Use of rubber gloves and substantial footwear is recommended when working outdoors. Wearprotective hair covering to contain long hair. 5. Use Safety Glasses – Always use face or dustmask if operation is dusty. 6. Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protection should be provided on the circuit(s) oroutlet(s) to be used for the hedge trimmer. Receptacles are available having built-in GFCIprotection and may be used for this measure of safety. 7. Use Right Appliance – Do not use appliance for any job except that for which it is intended. 8. The table below shows the correct size to use depending on the cord length andnameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gage. The smaller the gage number. the heavier the cord. Use the extension cord retaining system described in this manual to keepthe cord from disconnecting from the hedge trimmer. Avoid Unintentional Starting -Don't carry plugged-in hedge trimmer with finger on switch. Be sure switch is off when plugging in. 11.Don't Abuse Cord -Never carry hedge trimmer by cord or yank it to disconnect fromreceptacle. Keep cord from heat, oil and sharp edges. DANGER: Risk of Cut – Keep hands away from blades – Keep both hands on handles whenpower is on. Do not attempt to remove cut material nor hold material to be cut when blades are moving. Make sure trimmer switch is off when clearing jammed material from blades. Do not grasp theexposed cutting blades or cutting edges when picking up or holding the hedge trimmer.
