Make sure that the appliance, the cord and the powerplug do not get wet. ENGLISH . Check if the voltage indicated on the powerplug corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance. . Only use the powerplug supplied. . Keep the appliance out of the reach of children. . Charge, use and store the appliance at a temperature between 15cC and 35cC. . This appliance is only designed for trimming the human beard. Do not use the appliance for any other purpose. . Do not use the appliance if the cutting unit is damaged or broken, as this may cause injury. . If the powerplug is damaged, always have it replaced by one of the original type in order to avoid a hazard. Charging Charge the appliance fully before you star t using it for the first time or after a long period of disuse. Charge indications (QT4080 only) Battery running low . When the battery capacity drops below its minimum level, the red battery-low light starts blinking when you switch the trimmer on or during trimming to indicate that the appliance needs to be charged (fig. 2). B When this happens, there is still enough energy in the batter y for one more trimming session. When the batter y is completely empty, neither the motor nor the lights will go on. In this case you can run the appliance from the mains. Charging . When you start charging, the green light starts blinking (fig. 3). . During charging the blinking green light indicates the level at which the battery is currently charging.The battery capacity that is already available is indicated by the green battery lights that burn continuously (fig. 4). ENGLISH Battery fully charged When the batter y is fully charged, the bottom three green lights burn continuously and the top green light blinks at a ver y high frequency. Battery capacity indication Your Philips beard trimmer is equipped with a batter y capacity indication. This indication becomes visible for 5 seconds ever y time the appliance is switched on or off. The number of burning green lights indicates the amount of batter y capacity that is available. The charging light will not go out when the batter y is fully charged. . It will take approx. 10 hours to fully charge the battery if it is completely empty. If there is still battery capacity available, fully charging the battery will take less time. ENGLISH . A fully charged appliance has a cordless trimming time of up to 50 minutes. . For a single trimming session the appliance must be charged for at least 90 minutes. Optimising the lifetime of the rechargeable battery -After the appliance has been charged for the first time, use it until the batter y is completely empty. - Do not charge the appliance for more than 24 hours. -Do not keep the powerplug plugged into the wall socket all the time. - Do not recharge the appliance between trimming sessions. -Discharge the batter y completely twice a year by letting the motor run until it stops. Then fully recharge the batter y. -If the appliance has not been used for a long period of time, it must be fully recharged.
