Begin at the chin and move up toward the sideburns, keeping the inside of the trimmer head facing you. 3. Use the machine facing downward in order to accentuate the line of the beard Begin at the chin moving upward, trimming the area below the beard line you have created. 4. Use the cutting guide to even out the length of the beard Make sure that this accessor y is fitted correctly before beginning to trim your hair. Begin on the longest hair setting with gentle movements in the direction of hair growth, from the sideburns to the chin as if you were combing your beard. Use shorter hair settings each time until you achieve the desired length. You can also choose a short cut around your ears and below the neck, leaving the beard on the face a little longer. Moustache trimming 1. Comb your moustache in the direction of hair growth. 2. Cut the shape of the moustache. Keep the precision trimmer in a vertical position with the front of the unit facing you and mark out the line of the moustache. 3. If you wish to use the accessor y, begin trimming the moustache on the longest setting working from top to bottom. Use a shorter setting each time until you achieve the desired length. FITTING THE WALL SUPPORT Do the following to assemble the charger base wall support: • Insert the jack for the charger/adapter into the hole at the bottom of the wall support and twist the catch so that it locks it into position (figure 2). • Pass the charger/adapter cable through the hole on the wall support (figure 3) • Plug the charger/adapter into an electric socket. The precision trimmer will start to charge as soon as it is slotted into the wall support The charge indicator lamp will light up (figure 4). • You can place all of the accessories into the holes and slots on the wall support (figure 5). USE Operation with batteries: To use the precision trimmer without the cable set the on/off switch to the “0” position. Plug the adapter/charger into an electric socket and insert the adapter jack into hole “A” on the appliance. (Figure 6), the charge indicator lamp (8) will light up, indicating that the appliance is charging. Leave it to charge for about 6 hours for the first charge. Continuous 24 hour charging is not recom mended. Tr y not to charge the appliance at temperatures below 0.C or above 40.C. After the initial charge you can use the precision trimmer until you notice that it is losing power, after approximately 30 minutes of use. You should then charge the appliance for approximately 4 hours, depending on the state of the batter y. To prolong the life of the batteries it is advisable to discharge them fully ever y 6 months. Then charge the batteries back up to their maximum capacity. It is preferable not to keep the appliance permanently charged. Hold the precision trimmer and set the switch to the “ON” position. Mains connection: To use the precision trimmer with the adapter cable set the on/off switch to the “0” position. Plug the adapter/charger into an electric socket and insert the adapter jack into hole “A” on the appliance. (Figure 6), the charge indicator lamp (8) will light up, indicating that the appliance is charging. Hold the precision trimmer and set the on/ off switch to the “ON” position, the charge indicator lamp will go out. It is not advisable to keep the appliance running continuously for longer than 30 minutes, if needs be stop for 10 minutes to clean and lubricate the blades, otherwise the performance of the appliance could suffer. HOW TO BEGIN CUTTING HAIR Hair cutting requires practice. It is best not to cut hair too short the first few times until you get used to the lengths that you can achieve with each accessory. Accessories: Accessor y N. 1 leaves hair 3mm long. Accessor y N. 2 leaves hair 6mm long. Accessor y N. 3 leaves hair 9mm long. Accessor y N. 4 leaves hair 12mm long. Each accessor y is marked accordingly or shows the size on the outside of the central area. -To attach a cutting guide, slot the accessory on to the blades (Figure 7) and press down so that it locks on correctly. -To remove the cutting guide, pull on it gently. (Figure 8) CLEANING & MAINTENANCE Make sure that the appliance is unplugged from the electric socket before attempting to clean it. Use the brush supplied to remove any hair that might be caught between the teeth on the blades. Remember to lubricate them regularly. The blade system can be dismantled in order to give the precision trimmer a thorough cleaning. To remove the blade, press on it as shown in figure 9. Clean the blade system using the cleaning brush and add a few drops of oil between the blades. To reassemble the blade system, fit the bottom section in to its slot and press on the blade so that it lock on again. (Figure 10) The machine itself can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
