• Do not use outdoors or close to areas where aerosol sprays are being used or where oxygen is being administered. • Do not place or store the appliance where there is a risk of it falling. • Make sure that the appliance is unplugged from the mains before cleaning it. • NEVER IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. • Do not switch the appliance on if the cable or plug are damaged or if it can be detected that the appliance is not working correctly • The hair trimmer can be used with the adapter, included with the unit, after plugging it in to a wall socket or without the mains cable once the batter y is charged. When you have finished using the hair trimmer, switch it off by setting the switch to the OFF position, unplug the adaptor from the wall socket and then disconnect it from the unit. • Keep the blade cover fitted when the hair trimmer is not in use. • Cable repairs and replacements must be carried out exclusively by an Authorised Technical Service Centre. • Always unplug the hair trimmer when it is not in use, unless it is charging, and before cleaning it. • Do not wind the adaptor cable around the hair trimmer. • Keep the adaptor cable away from hot surfaces. • Do not use the hair trimmer if the adaptor cable or connection socket are damaged. • The hair trimmer must only be used with the adaptor supplied. • Warning: Before plugging the hair trimmer into the mains, check that the voltage corresponds to that stated on the characteristics plate. This is extremely important when using the hair trimmer in other countries. OIL -Periodic lubrication will make the blades last much longer. Lubricate the blades after ever y few uses. (Fig. 1) -Only use the oil supplied with the appliance. Apply a few drops to the teeth on the blades and switch the appliance on for a few seconds. Never use hair oil, grease mixed with ke rosene or any type of solvent. As the solvent evaporates it will leave a thick layer of grease that will slow down the movement of the blades. HAIR CUTTING TIPS 1. Comb any tangles out of the hair before attempting to cut it. 2. Cut the hair slowly. Advance gradually over the whole head. Always cut small amounts of hair, it can always be retrimmed later. 3. Comb the hair back frequently during cutting, according to the style that you want. 4. It is best to keep the hair dr y, not wet, when cutting with this machine. It is much easier to control the amount of hair being cut with dr y hair. 5. For uniform length haircuts just allow the guide to move through the hair. Do not force it or make sharp movements. Remember to frequently comb the hair in order to remove cut hair and to make sure that it is even. USE Operation with batteries: To use the hair trimmer without the cable set the on/switch to the “0” position. Plug the adapter/charger into an electric socket and insert the adapter jack into hole “A” on the hair trimmer. (Figure 2), the charge indicator lamp (11) will light up, indicating that the appliance is charging. Leave it to charge for about 6 hours for the first charge. Continuous 24 hour charging is not recommended. Tr y not to charge the appliance at tempe ratures below 0. C or above 40. C. After the initial charge you can use the hair trimmer until you notice that it is loosing power, after approximately 30 minutes of use. You should then charge the hair trimmer for approximately 4 hours, depending on the state of the batter y. To prolong the life of the batteries it is advisable to discharge them fully ever y 6 months. Then charge the batteries back up to their maximum capacity. It is preferable not to keep the hair trim mer permanently charged. Hold the hair trimmer and set the switch to the “ON” position. Mains connection: To use the hair trimmer with the cable set the on/switch to the “0” position. Plug the adapter/charger into an electric socket and insert the adapter jack into hole “A” on the hair trimmer. (Figure 2), the charge indicator lamp (11) will light up, indicating that the appliance is charging. Hold the hair trimmer and set the on/off switch to the “ON” position, the charge indicator lamp will go out. It is advisable not to keep the hair trimmer running continuously for longer than 30 minutes, if needs be stop for 10 minutes to clean and lubricate the blades, other wise the performance of the hair trimmer could suffer. HOW TO BEGIN CUTTING HAIR Hair cutting requires practice. It is best not to cut hair too short the first few times until you get used to the lengths that you can achieve with each accessory.
