When a boiling retardation occurs the normal boiling point is exceeded, without the fluid beginning to boil, thus causing superheating. Consequently the slightest agitation of the fluid can cause it to suddenly begin boiling. Danger of burning! • Never heat your meals or drinks in sealed containers as these may explode. • Foods with parings, such as tomatoes, potatoes or sausages should be broached before heating to prevent them from bursting. • Do not heat eggs that still have their shell with
