It often helps to have the mixer running while adding the hay and to load the hay on the auger side. B) LOAD HAY With the mixer running proceed to load the hay on the hay pan. Load the slabs toward the front end of the hay pan, so the hay is not resting against the rear backstop. Replace any damaged or worn decal. Once any part of a decal becomes non-readable, it should be replaced. The chain will form grooves in the tightener blocks. These grooves help to keep the chains in proper alignment, and the blocks need not be turned unless the roller portion of the chain has worn into the block.
