NEVER run engine indoors or in enclosed, poorly ventilated areas. Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, an odorless and deadly gas. NEVER carry pressure washer with engine running, turn engine off and allow it to cool before carrying pressure washer. DO NOT let hoses come in contact with hot engine muffler during or immediately after use of your pressure washer. Damage to hoses from contact with hot engine surfaces will NOT be covered by warranty. NEVER pull water supply hose to move pressure washer. This could damage hose and/or pump inlet. DO NOT use hot water, use cold water only. NEVER turn water supply off while pressure washer engine is running or damage to pump will result. DO NOT stop spraying water for more than two minutes at a time. Pump operates in bypass mode when spray gun trigger is not pressed. If pump is left in bypass mode for more than two minutes internal components of the pump can be damaged. If you do not understand these precautions, please call 1-866-4SIMONIZ (1 866 474 6664). A08989 10-ENG HOW TO USE DUAL DETERGENT INJECTION SYSTEM NOTE: Use only soaps and cleaning solutions designed for pressure washer use. Do not use bleach. To apply cleaning solutions: 1. Make sure cleaning solution tanks are assembled and all hoses are connected. 2. Turn detergent selection dial arrow to the down (off) position as shown in Fig. 12. Detergent selection dialFig. 12 3. Fill cleaning solution tanks with desired cleaning solution. Each tank holds approximately 1 1/4 gallons. NOTE: The cleaning solution/water ratio is 7:1, for every 7 gallons of water pumped, 1 gallon of cleaning solution will be used. Never fill cleaning solution tanks with gasoline or other flammable solvent. 4. Turn detergent selection dial toward tank with desired cleaning solution. (see Fig. 13) 5. Set multi-adjustable nozzle to low pressure setting. See How To Use Spray Wand paragraph in this section. 6. After use of cleaning solution the detergent injection system MUST be rinsed, follow the instructions in the Shutting Down paragraph after each use. NOTE: Cleaning solutions will not siphon when spray wand is in the high pressure setting. DUAL DETERGENT INJECTION SYSTEM SOLUTION TIPS 1. Each tank may be filled with different cleaning solutions depending on the task to be performed. Example: deck and driveway. Fill one tank with deck cleaning solution and the other with driveway cleaning solution. Clean the deck with the deck cleaning solution. When finished with the deck, simply turn the detergent selection dial toward the driveway cleaning solution and clean the driveway. 2. a. If only one cleaning solution is being used, both tanks may be filled with the same solution to double the capacity. b. If only one cleaning solution is being used, the second tank may be filled with clean water to conveniently rinse the detergent injection system after use. Tank to be usedFig. 13 11-ENG A08989 STARTING Prior to starting, refer to your Engine Owner's manual for proper starting procedures. 1. In a well-ventilated outdoor area add fresh, high-quality, unleaded gasoline with a pump octane rating of 86 or higher. Do not overfill. Wipe up spilled fuel before starting the engine. Refer to Engine Owner's Manual for correct procedure. 2. Check engine oil level. See Engine Owner's Manual for correct procedure. NOTE: There will be a slight amount of oil in the engine from factory testing. 3. Verify the filter screen is in water inlet of pump. (see Fig. 14) NOTE: Cone side faces out. Filter screenFig. 14 4. Connect water supply to pump inlet (see Fig. 15). NOTE: Water supply must provide a minimum of 5 gallons per minute at 20 PSI. 5. Connect high pressure hose to pump outlet. (see Fig. 15) High-pressure hose hook-upWater supplyFig.15 6. If applying a cleaning solution, see How To Use the Dual Cleaning Solution System in Operation section of this manual. 7. Turn water supply on. NOTE: Failure to do so could cause damage to the pump. 8. Start engine. See Engine Owner's Manual for correct procedure. NOTE: When engine rope is pulled, pressure starts building in the gun. If the engine does not start after two pulls, pull the gun trigger to relieve this pressure. 9. Depress trigger on gun to start water flow. NOTE: Stand on a stable surface and grip gun/spray wand firmly with both hands. Expect the gun to kick when triggered. 10. Release trigger to stop water flow. 11. Adjust spray for the task being performed by changing quick connect nozzle. See How To Use Spray Wand instructions in this section. SHUTTING DOWN 1. After use of cleaning solution the detergent injection system MUST be rinsed in order to prevent pump damage caused by solution buildup. The warranty will not cover pumps that are damaged because the dual- detergent injection system was not properly rinsed. To rinse injection system using injection system rinsing hose a. Remove cleaning solution hose from detergent injection system barb fitting. (see Fig. 16) Fig. 16 A08989 12-ENG b. Push ...
