A3 Connecting the Display Before setting up the monitor, ensure that the power to the monitor, the computer system, and other attached devices is turned off. Positioning your display 1. Ergonomic It is recommended that in order to maintain an ergonomic and comfortable viewing position, the forward tilt angle of the monitor should not exceed 5 degrees. A4 Connecting the Display Using the Computer 1. Place the monitor in a convenient, well-ventilated location near your computer. To adjust height of your monitor, unlock the stand lock on top of the stand. 2. Connect the signal cable. When attached, tighten the thumbscrews to secure the connection. 3. Connect the power cord into a proper power outlet that is easily accessible and close to the display. NOTE This is a simplified shown. A5 Using the Auto Pivot function This model supports Auto Pivot (automatic rotation) functions. To use this function, install the provided Forte Manager software first and then, perform Automatic setting.(Manual is the default setting when you purchase the product.) -Refer to the installation guide included in the CD for more details on the installation method. -For the automatic setting, select Forte Manager -> Option -> Pivot -> Enable AutoPivot. Notice Forte Manager software requires Microsoft Explorer 6.0 or later. The response time (speed) for the Auto Pivot function can vary depending on the video card and the PC performance, and these functions are not supported in the DOS mode. Auto Pivot Screen rotation : You can rotate the monitor screen part clockwise by 90°. . ..Caution : Be careful that your hands are not pressed down when rotating the screen. A6 Control Panel Functions Front Panel Controls Bottom Control Function Use this button to enter or exit the On Screen Display. MENU Button OSD LOCKED/UNLOCKED This function allows you to lock the current control settings, so that they cannot be inadvertently changed. Press and hold the MENU button for several seconds. The message "OSD LOCKED" should appear. You can unlock the OSD controls at any time by pushing the MENU button for several seconds. The message "OSD UNLOCKED" should appear. Use these buttons to select or adjust functions in the On -+ Buttons Screen Display. -Button Lightview hot key DAY This feature lets you easily select the best desired NIGHT image condition optimized to the environment (ambient illumination, image types etc). • DAY : Bright ambient illumination • NIGHT : Dark ambient illumination • TEXT : For text images (Word processing etc.) • MOVIE : For animation images in videos or movies • PHOTO : For pictures or drawings • NORMAL : This is under normal operating conditions + Button SOURCE hot key Use this button to make D-Sub or DVI connector active.
