Still images, such as the menu screens, will not be shown. To select a menu number using the remote Press the numeric buttons in the order you want in step 2. To enter track numbers 10 or over, first press >10, then press the numerical buttons. To enter 0, use the 10/0 button. Tips • When appears on the TV screen, you have pressed an invalid button. Press a button indicated by the instructions on the menu screen. • When you press NEXT during menu playback or while playing moving pictures, the next scene on the disc appears. Also refer to the instructions supplied with the disc. Note During menu playback, you cannot go to the next disc, even if you’ve selected “ALL DISCS.” Press D. SKIP on the remote to go to the next disc. Checking the remaining time You can check the remaining time of the current track or that of the CD. (Power) DISPLAY /Press DISPLAY during playback. Each time you press the button during normal playback, the display changes as follows: nPlaying time on the current track µ Remaining time on the current track µ Remaining time on current CD µ Clock display (for eight seconds) µ Effect (P FILE) name or “EFFECT ON (OFF)” µ Name of spectrum analyzer display pattern continued 27 Checking the remaining time (continued) (VIDEO CDs with PBC functions (Ver. 2.0)) nPlaying time on the current track* µ Clock display (for eight seconds) µ Effect (P FILE) name or “EFFECT ON (OFF)” µ Name of spectrum analyzer display pattern * May not appear with still images, etc. To check the total playing time and the number of tracks on a CD Press DISPLAY in the stop mode. If you press DISPLAY again, the clock display appears for eight seconds then the display returns to the previous indication. Tip While playing an audio CD or a VIDEO CD without PBC functions (Ver. 1.1), the current track number and playing time of the current track appear in the display. Using the on-screen display You can check the current operating status and disc information of VIDEO CDs or audio CDs during playback or in stop mode by superimposing a display on top of the images on your TV screen.
