As with all of our musical equipment, we have built our guitars using a combination of leading-edge technology and traditional handcrafted methods. Ask your Peavey dealer for a full list of other Peavey musical equipment and Single cutaway with angled heel Chrome hardware Bound, oval soundhole Construction Body The body of this instrument features a maple top, and the back and sides are constructed of solid poplar. A single cutaway with an angled heel permits access to the highest frets. The instrument features our polyester/urethane finish which is mar- and weather-resistant. Neck -H vv / s The select rock maple neck is crafted to provide unmatched rigidity and freedom from warpage. Additional reinforcement is provided with a steel torsion rod. The adjustable torsion rod features rolled threads for improved strength and minimal breakage. (See Adjustments - Torsion Rod, for adjustment instructions.) Controls signal level delivered from the / Volume The volume slider controls the total pickup to the output jack. Sliding the control upwards, towards 10, increases the volume; sliding it down, towards 0, decreases the volume. Mid 100 Hz and offers +12 dB boost (up) The mid slider is centered at 1 kHz and offers +12 dB boost (up) and -12 dB cut (down). High 1 L_ The high slider is centered at 3 kHz and offers +12 dB boost (up) and -1 2 dB cut (down). Battery The preamplifier is powered by a 9-volt battery (not included) accessible in the battery compartment on the back of the instrument. Note: Heavy-duty or alkaline batteries are recommended for reliability and long battery life. Low battery voltage will result in "fuzzy" or distorted sound, especially with higher tone and volume settings. Note: Peavey Electronics assumes no responsibility for damage resulting from a leaking or defective battery. Power is supplied to the preamplifier when a standard (mono) guitar cable is connected to the instrument. To ensure the longest battery life, be sure to disconnect any cable from the .. instrument whëh it is not in use. Adjustments X/_ « Your instrument has been carefully adjusted for accurate intonation and playing ease at the Peavey factory. However, your playing style or playing requirements may necessitate additional adjustments. These adjustments should be made by your Peavey dealer; however, with a little care and by adhering closely to the following instructions, you may attempt these adjustments yourself. Please read the instructions thoroughly before attempting any adjustments. Lj- I Torsion Rod All guitar necks have a slight amount of bow to keep the strings from "buzzing" on the frets. To set the "straightness" of the neck, use a Peavey torsion-rod wrench. 1. Jl Tune the i instrument to standard (A-440) pitch. 2. Fret the si xth string (E) at the first and last frets. 3. Check for clearance between the string and the eighth fret. 4. Clearance should be no less than .012" and no more than .025“ 5. To increase clearance, loosen (counterclockwise) the torsion- rod nut. Less clearance (straightening of the neck} is accomplished by tightening (clockwise) the nut. Caution: It is not usually necessary to rotate the torsion rod nut more than one full turn in either direction. 1/4 to 1/2 turn is usually sufficient. Excessive rotation may cause damage to the neck and torsion rod. If excessive force is necessary to rotate the torsion rod nut, you should consult your Peavey dealer or the factory before any further adjustment. 6. Repeat steps 1-5 until proper clearance has been achieved. Neck Tilt The neck-tilt adjustment is used to set the overall string playing height. This adjustment should be used whenever possible to set string height. 1. Relieve string tension slightly by detuning the instrument (approximately 1-2 whole steps). 2. Loosen two neck screws (closest to the headstock) approximately 1 turn. 3. Loosen remaining two neck screws (closest to the bridge) approximately 2 turns. 4.
