Switching channels can also be accomplished using an optional footswitch. ✓The NORMAL channel delivers clean sound designed for traditional jazz or country or a warm, crunch sound optimized for blues and rock. ✓ Adding to a three-band tone control, the LEAD channel features two volume knobs (PRE VOL and POST VOL) for screaming high gain that is well-suited for rock blues and metal. ✓The active PRESENCE knob only available on high-end units, works on the signal within the power section, adding lustrous highs to the sound even at maximum distortion. ✓The built-in heavy-duty speakers (BC-30; 12" X 1, BC-30/210; 10" X 2) are a direct result of intensive research into famous guitar amp speaker units, such as the "Blue" and British "Greenback" speakers. And with the power amplifier section going into soft clipping, the speaker will deliver an SPL much higher than its rated 30W R.M.S. 4 NAMES OF THINGS AND WHAT THEY DO 1 3 5 7 2 4 6 IBC-30, BC-30/210 Control Panel 1. Input An ultra Hi-Z INPUT jack (1-1) makes sure the vintage single coil pickup sound is at its best. 2. Channel Select 2-1 2-2 Switch between the NORMAL channel and LEAD channel with the CH SELECT switch (2-1). The channel selected is indicated by green for NORMAL and red for LEAD. Connecting an optional footswitch to the CH SELECT FOOT SW jack (2-2) lets you switch instantly. The optional BOSS FS-5L has an indicator to let you visually confirm it on the footswitch. * If a footswitch is used, the front panel CH SELECT switch will not operate. * Switching channels can cause a slight noise. 3. Normal Channel The Normal Channel lets you create sounds from clean, distortion-free type to slight overdrive. Use the channel VOLUME (3-2) to set your level. Using the BRIGHT switch (3-1) provided the brilliant highs of vintage tweeds and blackface panel amps. 4. Lead Channel 4-1 4-2 The PRE VOL knob (4-1) has a wide enough range to produce crunch to hard distortion. Since it provides ample sustain and feedback, you won't need over-the-top distortion even if you're after a heavy metal sound. With hard distortion you still get superior picking response that enhances your playing. At low guitar volume settings the sound stays natural. The POST VOL knob (4-2) can be used to balance the different volume levels of the NORMAL and LEAD channels. 5 5. Three Band Tone Control 5-1 The Blues Cube's three-band tone control circuit (5-1) is a passive design delivering natural guitar sound. Repeated listning tests showed that our passive circuit was comparable to an active equalizer and allowed for a wider array of sounds. 6. Master Control 6-1 8:2 DO The active PRESENCE (6-1) control works on the power amp stage to produce effects that are different from tone controls or equalizers. This adds brilliant highs to the sound, even with hard distortion. MASTER LEVEL (6-2) controls the total sound level of the Blues Cube. 7» Power Switch 7-1 The POWER switch (7-1) switches the unit on or off. * Once the connections have been completed, turn on power to your various devices in the order specified. By turning on devices in the wrong order, you risk causing malfunction and/or damage to speakers and other devices. * This unit is equipped with a protection circuit. A brief interval (a few seconds) after power up is required before the unit will operate normally. Experience a new world of guitar sound! TONE SETTINGS A.
