When it becomes dimmer or does not light at all, battery replacement is required. 0 Level Knob This adjusts the volume of the effect sound. Clockwise rotation raises the volume and counterclockwise rotation decreases, o Tone Knob This adjusts the tone of the effect sound. As you rotate the knob clockwise, higher frequencies are emphasized, and counterclockwise cuts them. © Drive Knob This adjusts the depth of the distortion effect. Rotating the knob clockwise increases the amount of distortion, and counterclockwise decreases. Q Mode Selector Switch This selects one of the six effect modes. [SGL] Single Mode Only the distortion circuits function. [DOUB l-III] Doubling Modes I to III. Short delay (Doubling effect) of digital delay is added to the distortion, creating fat sounds. If two amplifiers are used, spacious distortion is obtained owing to the two outputs. Delay time becomes longer from I to III. [CHO I- II] Chorus Modes I and II. Digital chorus is added to the distortion, creating fatter sounds. The depth of chorus is deeper in II mode. © Output Jacks A/B Connect amplifiers to these jacks. For monaural output, use only the Output Jack A. © Input Jack Connect an electronic musical instrument such as a guitar to this jack. * Plugging in this jack will automatically switch the unit on. Be sure to disconnect the cord from this jack when the unit is not to be used. © Pedal Switch Effect can be turned on or off by pressing the pedal. © Thumb Screw Loosen the screw to open the cover for battery replacement. * Do not remove the screw from the cover, or you may lose it. 'CONNECTION AC Adaptor BOSS PSA Series (Optional) Amplifier * For monaural output, use only Output A. * When the unit is not to be used, disconnect the connection cord from the Input Jack. | jcm m jj | [ P IIËIÜII! 111!! Keyboard ■ CAUTIONS • If the battery voltage drops (the Check Indicator lights dimmer), various symptoms are shown, such as the effect becomes weak, no sound is produced, etc. To prevent that, replace the battery immediately. • Use the BOSS alkaline battery if possible. • When the unit is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the battery to prevent problems caused by battery leakage, • Plugging in the Input Jack automatically turns the unit on, so disconnect the cord from the Input Jack when the unit is not in use. • By muting circuit system, no effect works for about 5 seconds after the unit is turned on. OPERATION ® Make all the necessary connections, then set the controls on the panel as shown below. CHECK О LEVEL TOME OMVET @ Adjust the depth of distortion with the Drive Knob. LEVEL TONE DRIVE [ (2) Press the Pedal Switch and make sure that the Check Indicator lights up. Adjust the tone of distortion with the Tone Knob. TONE DRIVE T Set the Mode Selector Switch to the desired position. © Adjust the volume of the distortion with the Level Knob. CHECK LEVEL TONE DWVE'f CHECK LEVEL TONE OMVET ■ BATTERY REPLACEMENT © Loosen the Screw of Pedal to open it. © Take out the battery from the Battery Housing and disconnect the Battery Snap. © Replace with a new battery and connect the Battery Snap. * Be sure that the polarity (+/-) is correct. © Put the Coil Spring to the Spring Base and close the Pedal. * Make sure that the Battery Snap is not caught in the Pedal or Coil Spring. © Insert the screw into the Guide Bush Hole and firmly tighten the screw.
