APPLICATION The Patriot Multi-Purpose System (MPS) is designed to be the ultimate Night Vision Device. This versatile unit can be used in night vision time situations as a compact hand spotting scope, a hands free goggle system, a weapon sight, and applicable for video or photography. If versatility is what you are looking for in night vision device then the Patrior MPS is the system for you. The Patriot system allows you to custom design your own personalized unit. By ordering different packages you can build a system that fits your specific night vision needs. To build the perfect system you must start with the perfect base unit to build upon. By utilizing a high resolution 2nd or 3d generation US intensifier tube the Patriot has one of the brightest and sharpest images available. A built-in illuminator allows you to see clearly even in total darkness. Combine this with all glass optics specially coated to absorb light and the Patriot is an exellent compact pocket scope. PATRIOT I • 1st Generation US • 1x30mm lens • 30mm Eyepiece • All glass multi-coated lenses • Built in infrared Illiminator • Soft carrying case • Red on Green weapon sight eyepiece • Mounting rings, 4x90mm 6 element lens • Long RangeIR • Goggle Kit (Head set with chinstrap, Transfer piece) • 3 element Magnification Doubler • Camera/Camcorder adapter • Pelican waterproof hard case PATRIOT II • 2nd Generation US • 1x30mm lens • 30mm Eyepiece • All glass multi-coated lenses • Built in infrared Illiminator • Soft carrying case PATRIOT III • 3rd Generation US • 1x30 mm lens • 30 mm Eyepeice • All glass multi-coated lenses • Built in infrared Illiminator • Soft carrying case A Long range IR is also available. This will extend the infrared range out to 100 meters. 2 OPERATION • Take the monocular out of the case. • Install the batteries into the housing with the polarity order as shown on the scope. Battery Type: 3 Volt Lithium, #CR123A • Press Button marked -/O to turn unit on with the protective lens cover still attached to the lens. Do not turn unit on in the daytime without the protective lens cap on. You should see a green glow in the eyepiece • Observe the scene, and adjust the diopter for optimal image clarity. • You may now enter a dark environment, or simply shut the lights off in order to darken the room. • Next, remove the lens cap/daylight filter. Adjust front lens for distance focus. You should not have to readjust diopter. • You will need to focus the objective lens for different distances. LONG-RANGE INFRA-RED ILLUMINATOR The long range IR works on a separate battery from the main unit. To install the battery unscrew cap and insert battery in the same direction as depicted by the diagram on the IR. To install the long range IR to the main body of the Patriot screw the thumb screw on the IR into the thread on the body of the Patriot. You may notice that IR might not shine directly in the middle of your viewing image. This can be adjusted by unscrewing the lock ring, then adjusting the main body of IR. Once you have the IR aimed in the correct direction re-tighten locking ring. You may desire a different field of coverage from the IR illuminator. If so the beam is focusable. By turning the lens of the IR you will change the beam width slightly. 3 CHANGING FRONT LENS/DOUBLER Increasing and decreasing magnification. The Patriot can have several different magnifications. This is achieved by using different combinations of lenses and eyepieces. The table below shows what magnifications can be achieved. To change eyepiece unscrew connector ring and remove eyepiece, screw new eyepiece on. To remove the front lens unscrew the lens by turning the base of the front lens, screw new front lens on. To add doubler insert Doubler between front lens and body of the Patriot. base of the front lens doubler body of Patriot eyepiece 30mm eyepiece 15mm eyepiece 30mm lens 1x 2x 30mm lens & 2x doubler 2x 4x 90mm lens 3x 6x 90mm lens & 2x doubler 6x 12x 4 FOCUSING To focus the Patriot first you will need to adjust the diopter. Simply turn the diopter clockwise until it stops. Then, while looking through the diopter at a subject, slowly turn the diopter back counter clockwise until the grain in the image is sharp. NOTE: We suggest that you focus the diopter during daylight with the filter on. Next. When you are in low-light conditions and the daylight filter is off, you may focus the front lens to receive a sharp image, the diopter should not be adjusted. NOTE: The front lens should be readjusted as you view objects at different distances. INFRA-RED ILLUMINATOR * turned off. Infra-red illuminators, or IR illuminators, are common to night vision. The IR light greatly enhances the performance of the Patriot while remaining almost totally invisible to the...
