Many floor coverings will not withstand this kind of use. Before instating your range on linoleum or any other synthetic floor covering, make sure the floor covering can withstand 100° without shrinking, warping or discoloring. • Do not install the range over carpeting unless a sheet of thick plywood or similar insulator is placed between the range and carpeting. • Do not leave children alone or unattended where a range is hot or in operation. • Never use your appliance for heating the room. Your oven and cooktop are not designed to heat your kitchen. Top burners should not be operated without cookware. • Do not let cooking grease accumulate in or near the range. • Never pick up a flaming pan. Turn the controls off. • Smother a flaming pan on a surface unit by covering the pan completely with a well fitting lid. • Do not use water on grease fires.
