For measuring outdoor temperature, the thermometer's sensor cord extends up to 10 feet. Mounting the Bracket 1. Clean the desired location inside your car with a soft cloth. 2. Peel off one side of adhesive paper from the supplied mounting stickers, and attach the stickers to the back of the supplied mounting bracket. Then, peel off the paper on the other side of the sticker. 3. Firmly press the bracket onto the desired car location. 4. Slide the thermometer onto the bracket. Mounting the Sensor 1. Peel off the paper from the back of the sensor to expose the adhesive tape. 2. Firmly press the sensor against a clean, flat surface on the outside of your vehicle. Step Four Using the Thermometer 1. Extend the sensor cord and attach the sensor to the outside of your car. 2. Repeatedly press MODE until the time and outdoor temperature (OUT), outdoor temperature (OUT) and voltage (V), or outdoor temperature (OUT) and indoor temperature (IN) appears on the display. 3. Repeatedly press C/F to select Celsius or Fahrenheit. The current temperature (IN or OUT, depending on your display view) appears. Step Three Setting the Time 1. Repeatedly press MODE until the time and indoor temperature (IN), or the time and outdoor temperature (OUT) appear on the display. 2. Repeatedly press or hold down HR until the correct hour digits appear. 3. Repeatedly press or hold down MIN until the correct minute digits appear. 4. To select 12- or 24-hr time format, hold down C/F until the time display changes to the desired format. Step Five Using the Digital Voltage Meter The supplied voltage meter is used to check your vehicle's battery voltage and charging voltage. Connect the supplied adapter to your vehicle's cigarette light adapter. Connect the other end to the unit's 12V DC PLUG. The DC POWER LED flashes continuously. For battery voltage, check the reading one hour after turning your car engine off. For charging voltage, read the unit while your car's engine and main beam are turned on. h : the current or charging voltage is less than 11.6V. h : the current or charging voltage is between 11.7V and 12.4V. i the current or charging voltage is between 12.5V and 12.9V. j the current or charging voltage is 13.0V or greater. Step Six Using the ICE Alert You can set an alert to sound when outdoor temperatures range from 30.2°F to 39.2°F (-1°C to 4°C), meaning there is potential for freezing rain, sleet, snow, or icy road conditions. Press ALERT until ^ appears to turn on the alert. When the outdoor temperature is within this range, a beep sounds once every minute until you turn off the alert, or until the temperature rises or falls outside of the range. ^ remains on the display as long as the temperature is less than 39.2°F (4°C).To turn the alert off, press ALERT until ^ disappears. Step Seven Minimum and Maximum Memory Repeatedly press MIN/MAX until MIN or MAX appears on the display to view the minimum or maximum recorded temperature within the last 24 hours. To clear memory, hold down MIN/MAX for about three seconds. Memory records are updated every day at 12:00 AM. Cautions and Notes • Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. • Do not burn or bury batteries. • Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type. • Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries (standard, alkaline, or rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries of different capacities. • If you do not plan to use the thermometer for a month or more, remove the batteries. Batteries can leak chemicals that can damage electronic parts. • Do not attach the thermometer to a surface that can get extremely hot, like the dashboard of a car. • Do not mount the thermometer or sensor where they will be in direct sunlight. • Do not place the thermometer in water, or in a location where it is likely to get wet. Only the sensor and its cord are water-resistant. • When mounting the sensor on a vehicle's windshield, be sure to place it out of the windshield wipers' path to avoid damaging the sensor. Care Keep the thermometer dry; if it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. Handle the thermometer carefully; do not drop it. Keep the thermometer away from dust and dirt, and wipe it with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.
