Enter the destination E-mail address from the dial pad or use the One-Touch key or Speed Dial number. Press Start. The machine will start the scanner process. Note • If your network supports the LDAP protocol you can search for stored E-mail addresses on your server. (See Chapter 12 in the Network User’s Guide.) • You can store the scan resolution (Scan Profile) for each stored E-mail address in a One-Touch or Speed- Dial number. (See Dialing & Storing numbers in Chapter 8 of the User’s Guide.) Using One-Touch or Speed-Dial number You can also scan a document directly to an address you registered in a One-Touch or Speed-Dial number. When you scan the document, the settings you registered with the One-Touch or Speed-Dial will be used for the quality and the file type. Only One-Touch or Speed Dials with an E-mail address registered can be used when you scan data using One-Touch or Speed-Dial. (I-Fax addresses are not available for use.) a Load your document. b Press (Scan). c Choose One-Touch or Speed-Dial number. If your machine supports Duplex Scan and you want to scan both sides of your document, press Duplex. d Press Start. The machine starts the scanning process. (See Dialling and storing numbers in Chapter 8 of the User’s Guide.) 90 Network Scanning (For models with built-in network) Scan to Image When you choose Scan to Image, your document will be scanned and sent directly to the PC you designated on your network. ControlCenter3 will activate the default graphics application on the designated PC. You can change the Scan configuration. (See Image (example: Microsoft® Paint) on page 63.) a Load your document. b Press (Scan). c Press a or b to choose Scan to PC. Press OK. d Press a or b to choose Image. Press OK. If your machine does not support Duplex Scan, go to step f. If your machine supports Duplex Scan, go to step e. e Press a or b to choose 1sided, 2sided (L)edge or 2sided (S)edge. Press OK. f Press a or b to choose the destination PC you want to send to. Press OK. (See SCAN on page 62.) • If you want to change the default file size, choose your preferred rate by moving the scroll bar on the Device Button tab of the ControlCenter3 configuration. 4 91 Network Scanning (For models with built-in network) Scan to OCR When you choose Scan to OCR, your document will be scanned and sent directly to the PC you designated on your network. ControlCenter3 will activate ScanSoft™ PaperPort™ 11SE OCR and convert your document into text for viewing and editing from a word processing application on the designated PC. You can change the Scan configuration. (See OCR (Word Processing program) on page 65.) a Load your document. b Press (Scan). 4 c Press a or b to choose Scan to PC.
