At SprintSpeed.™ Get Your Phone Ready Get Your Phone Ready >Insert the Battery 1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the phone by pressing down and sliding the cover in the direction of the arrow on the back cover. 2. Insert the battery into the battery compartment and gently press down until it clicks into place. 3. Replace the battery cover. >Charge the Battery 1. Plug the phone charger into an outlet. 2. Plug the other end of the charger into the phone’s charger/accessory jack. >Turn the Phone On • Press and hold to turn the phone on. >Activate Your Phone • If you purchased your phone at a Sprint Store, it is probably activated and ready to use. • If you received your phone in the mail, and it is a new Sprint account or a new phone number, your phone is designed to activate automatically when you first turn it on. To confirm your activation, make a phone call. • If you received your phone in the mail and you are switching numbers from a previous Sprint phone to the new phone, you need to contact Sprint to activate the number on your new phone. There are two ways to do this: • From your computer’s Web browser, go to sprint.com/activate and complete the onscreen instructions to activate your phone. • Contact Sprint Customer Service at 1-888-211-4727 for assistance with activation. When you have finished, make a phone call to confirm your activation. >Switch to Spanish Menus (optional) 1. Press > Settings > Display > Language. 2. Select Espanol and press . For New Entry, select a type for the number (such as Mobile, Home, Office, Pager, Others), enter a name, and add other information as needed. For Existing Entry, select the entry, select a type, and add other information. 4. Press Done (left softkey). >Retrieve a Phone Number 1. Press Contacts (right softkey). 2. Use your navigation key to scroll through the entries, or use your keypad to enter the first few letters of the contact entry. 3. To display an entry, highlight it and press . To call the entry’s default phone number, highlight it and press . >Send a Text Message 1. Press > Messaging > Send Message > Text Message. 2. Select Go To Contacts to select a contact, select Mobile to enter a wireless phone number, or Email to enter an email address, and then press > Next (left softkey). 3. Use your keypad to enter a message or press Options (right softkey) to choose from preset messages or emoticons. 4. Press Next (left softkey) to preview your message, and then press Send (left softkey). >Take a Picture 1. Press and hold the side camera button to activate the phone’s camera. 2. Using your display as a viewfinder, aim the camera lens at your subject, and press . 3.
