Do not dis- pose of the packing materials until assembly is completed and the spa is operating. • During assembly, make sure that all parts are oriented as shown in the drawings. • Read each assembly step before you begin. • Tighten all parts as you assemble them, unless instructed to do otherwise. ASSEMBLY REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING TOOLS (not included): • One (1) phillips screwdriver • You may also need a small amount of soap or water. A wire connector is provided on the electronics pack of the spa to connect a minimum No. 8 AWG (8.04 mm2) solid copper conductor between the spa and any metal equipment, electrical enclosure made of metal, metal water pipes, or conduit within five feet of the spa. 1. Before beginning assembly, make sure that you have read and understand the information in the box above and on the previous two pages. Remove the eight 1/4” x 1 1/2” Machine Screws (7) from the Access Panels (2, 5). Remove the Access Panels by sliding them down and then pulling the bottoms of the Access Panels away from the spa. Be careful not to damage the spa shell. If desired, snap the three included pillows to the spa shell at this time. Each pillow can be attached in either a high position or a low position. To determine the desired position, attach a pillow to the spa shell, note its position, remove it, turn it 180°, and then reattach it. 2. Refer to the drawing on page 6 and locate the pump access opening. Locate the drain hose inside the opening. Close the valve knob on top of the drain hose. Next, make sure that the cap is fully tightened onto the end of the drain hose. Locate the four gate valves inside the pump access opening (there are two gate valves per pump). Make sure that the gate valves are open and that the locking clips are snapped onto the stems of the gate valves, as shown in the inset drawing. Make sure that the four collars are tightened (there are two collars per pump). Refer to step 1 above. Re-attach the pump Access Panel (2) to the spa with the four 1/4” x 1 1/2” Machine Screws (7). Refer to the drawing on page 6 and locate the heater access opening. Locate the two indicated gate valves inside the heater access opening. Make sure that the gate valves are open and that the locking clips are snapped onto the stems of the gate valves (refer to the inset drawing in step 2 on page 8). Make sure that the four indicated collars are tightened. Refer to step 1. Re-attach the heater Access Panel (5) to the spa with the four 1/4” x 1 1/2” Machine Screws (7). 4. The hydrotherapy spa operates on a 240 volt power source and must be wired directly to a 240 volt ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) installed in your home. This procedure must be performed by a qualified electrician. A wiring diagram is found on the inside of the electronics pack as a reference. Under no circumstances should the spa be wired by someone other than a qualified electrician. Before you have the spa wired, make sure that it is in the position you want, and that it can be easily serviced, if needed. 3 Collar Collar Collar Gate Valve Electronics Pack Gate Valve 5. After a qualified electrician has wired the spa to a 240 volt power source, refer to the inset drawing. Set the Filter (16) into the filter housing. Next, screw the Filter Cover (8) into the filter housing until it is fully seated. Remove the two warning decals (not shown) from the spa shell. Using a damp cloth, wipe the spa shell clean. Before filling the spa, make sure that it is in the desired position and that there is room to easily service the spa. Once the spa is filled, it will have to be drained before it can be moved. Using a garden hose or other clean water source, begin filling spa. Do not use soft water. The spa may be filled with cold water; however, if warm or hot water is used, the spa will be ready for use sooner. Fill the spa until the water is at the level shown at the right. Do not overfill the spa. 6. Pull down one of the straps on the Spa Cover (11) and hold the Buckle (30) against one of the WeatherWood™ panels on the spa. (Note: To position the Buckle correctly, have a second person hold the strap on the opposite side of the Spa Cover tight.) The Spa Cover must be tight. Do not place the Buckle over the grooves between the WeatherWood™ panels. Refer to the inset drawing. Remove the latch from the Buckle (30). Attach the Buckle to the WeatherWood™ panel with two #4 x 3/4” Screws (31). Attach the other five Buckles (30) to the WeatherWood™ panels in the same way. Remove the Spa Cover (11) from the spa. 5 Fill to Here Filter Housing 6 11 30 Strap Strap Latch 30 31 8 16 Filter Housing 9 Using the Hydrotherapy Spa The hydrotherapy spa is designed to seat five adults.
