(e) Reposition the display board on the standoffs. Install and tighten all three screws. For intrinsically safe applications, refer to drawing 1400184, page 10-2 of this Instruction Bulletin. Disconnect and lock out power beforeconnecting the unit to the power supply. Install all protective equipment coversand safety ground leads after installation. Failure to install covers and ground leads could result in serious injury or death. To meet the Safety Requirements ofIEC 1010 (EC requirement), and ensuresafe operation of this equipment, connection to the main electrical powersupply must be made through a circuitbreaker (min 10 A) which will disconnect all current-carrying conductorsduring a fault situation. This circuitbreaker should also include a mechanically operated isolating switch. Ifnot, then another external means of disconnecting the supply from theequipment should be located close by. Circuit breakers or switches must comply with a recognized standard such as IEC 947. SCREW DISPLAY BOARD 90O 90O CIRCUIT END CAP HOUSING a. General The power supply and signal wiring should be shielded. Also, make sure the signal 26020061 wiring is grounded at the Model 3081 Transmitter end only. Do not ground the Figure 2-8. Ground the transmitter housing to an earth ground to prevent unwanted electromagnetic interference (EMI) or radio frequency interference (RFI). NOTE For optimum EMI/RFI immunity, shieldthe 4-20 mA current loop cable andenclose in an earth grounded metalconduit. NOTE Never run signal or sensor wiring inthe same conduit, or open tray, withpower cables. Keep signal or sensorwiring at least 12 in. (0.3 m) away fromother electrical equipment and 6.5 ft (2m) from heavy electrical equipment. It is necessary to prevent moisture from entering the Model 3081 Transmitter housing. The use of weather-tight cable glands is required. If conduit is used, plug and seal connections on the transmitter housing to prevent moisture accumulation in the terminal side of the housing. Moisture accumulation in the transmitter housing can affect its perf...
