Save the user manual for future reference (Fig. 3). 3 This symbol indicates that this appliance is double insulated (Class II) (Fig. 4). - This appliance meets the requirements of Medical Device Directive MDD93/42/EEC. Danger -Water and electricity are a dangerous combination! Do not use this appliance in wet surroundings (e.g. in the bathroom or near a shower or swimming pool). - Do not let water run into the appliance or spill water onto the appliance. EnglisH -If there is no improvement after 6-8 treatments, stop using the appliance and consult your doctor. - Contraindications for InfraCare treatment: -Do not use the appliance without consulting your doctor first if you suffer from severe diseases such as hear t disease, acute inflammator y diseases, thrombosis, blood coagulation disorders, adrenal suppression, systemic lupus er ythematous or malignant diseases. -Do not use the appliance if you are oversensitive to infrared light or if you have oedema. If in doubt, consult your doctor. - Do not use the appliance if you are insensitive to infrared radiation and heat due to a disease (e.g. advanced diabetes) or the use of painkillers. If in doubt, consult your doctor. -Do not use the appliance if you suffer from conditions associated with ner ve demyelinisation such as carpal tunnel syndrome, multiple sclerosis and ulnar neuropathy. If in doubt, consult your doctor. -Do not use the appliance if you have an implanted device, par ticularly not if it is located in the vicinity of the treatment area. If in doubt, consult your doctor. -If you are pregnant, do not use the appliance to treat areas close to your abdomen or your lower back area, to avoid overheating of these areas.
