Turbo brush If your vacuum cleaner is equipped with a turbo brush, please consult the accompanying instruction manual for notes on its use and maintenance. Vacuuming with accessories Figure |9 Remove the accessory from the case and attach to the handle or suction pipe. a) Professional crevice nozzle Extra long crevice nozzle for cleaning crevices, corners and narrow spaces, e.g. in a car. b) Professional furniture brush For large-surface vacuuming of furniture requiring particular care, picture frames, books, etc. c) Professional upholstery nozzle ■ For gently and thoroughly cleaning upholstered furniture, curtains, etc. ■ To clean the professional upholstery nozzle, simply vacuum using the handle. ■ If it is very dirty, the professional upholstery nozzle can also be opened. To do this, turn the two screws on the sides of the nozzle (e.g. using a coin) and remove the inner part from the nozzle. After cleaning, replace the inner part (make sure it is correctly seated) and screw to the housing. After use, the professional accessories can again be conveniently stowed in the accessories case. Press on the unlatching sleeve and pull out the telescopic tube to disconnect. Figure m You can use the parking aid on the back of the vacuum cleaner if you wish to stop vacuuming for a short time. Slide the plastic lug on the tool connector into the groove at the back of the vacuum cleaner. When the work is done Figure ■ Switch the vacuum cleaner off and unplug the power cord from the mains. ■ Tug the power cord and let go. The cable then rewinds automatically. ■ To reactivate or deactivate the cable brake, quickly tug the power cord. Figure To store or transport the vacuum cleaner, use the storage aid on the underside of the vacuum cleaner. Stand the vacuum cleaner up on its end. Slide the plastic lug on the floor tool into the groove on the underside of the unit. Changing the dust bag and filters Replacing the MEGAfilt®SuperTEX dust bag Figure KQ ■ If the dust bag change indicator lights up brightly and evenly when the floor tool is lifted from the carpet and the highest suction power is selected, the dust bag must be changed, even though it may not yet be full. In this case it is essential to change the dust bag due to the type of material it contains. ■ Open the dust bag compartment lid by moving the dust compartment locking lever in the direction of the arrow. Figure KB Insert a new MEGAfilt®SuperTEXdust bag into the holder and close the dust bag compartment lid. | Caution: the dust bag compartment lid will • only close when the MEGAfilt®SuperTEX disposable or textile filter are inserted. If the dust bag change indicator is still lit after the dust bag has been changed, please check whether the nozzle, tube or flexible hose are blocked. Cleaning the motor protection filter The motor protection filter should be cleaned regularly by knocking out the dirt and rinsing. Figure KQ ■ Open the dust bag compartment lid (see Figure 14). ■ Pull out the motor protection filter in the direction of the arrow. ■ Clean the motor protection filter by tapping it. ■ If it is very dirty, the motor protection filter should be rinsed. The filter must then be left to dry for at least 24 hours. ■ After cleaning, insert the motor protection filter into the appliance as far as it will go and close the dust bag compartment lid. You can obtain a new motor protection filter on request as a spare part from the aftersales service. (see Spare parts, page 15 ) 13 en Changing the micro-hygiene filter* The micro-hygiene filter should be replaced with every new replacement filter pack (after 5 dust bags) and at least once a year.
