Before first use 1 2 Take the appliance and its accessories out of the box. Remove any sticker, protective foil or plastic from the appliance. preparing for use hose 1 To connect the hose, push it firmly into the appliance (‘click’). Note: Make sure that the projections of the hose fit into the recesses. 2 To disconnect the hose, push the buttons (1) and pull the hose outof the appliance (2). English Telescopic tube (specific types only) 1 To connect the tube to the handgrip, insert the handgrip into the tube and fit the spring-loaded lock button into the opening in thetube (‘click’). -To disconnect the tube from the handgrip, press the spring-loaded lock button and pull the handgrip out of the tube. 2 Adjust the tube to the length you find most comfortable during vacuuming. Press the collar downwards and pull the tube part above the collar upwards or push it downwards. Telescopic tube with easy-release button (specific types only) 1 To connect the tube to the handgrip, insert the handgrip into the tube. Fit the spring-loaded lock button into the opening in the tube(‘click’). -To disconnect the tube from the handgrip, press the easy-release button and pull the handgrip out of the tube. 2 Adjust the tube to the length you find most comfortable during vacuuming. Nozzles and accessories 1 To connect a nozzle or an accessory to the tube, insert the tube into the nozzle or accessory and fit the spring-loaded lock button into the opening in the nozzle or accessory (‘click’). Note: You can also connect the nozzles and accessories directly to the handgrip in the same way. 2 To disconnect a nozzle or an accessory from the tube, press the easy-release button or the spring-loaded lock button (depending on the type of nozzle or accessory) and pull the nozzle or accessory out of the tube. SilentSeal nozzle Note: For a silent and powerful cleaning job, always use the SilentSeal nozzle. The SilentSeal nozzle is a low-noise, multi-purpose nozzle for carpets and hard floors. -- Use the hard floor setting to clean hard floors (for instance tiled, parqueted, laminated and linoleumed flooring): push the rocker switch on top of the nozzle with your foot to make the brush strip come out of the housing. -- Use the carpet setting to clean carpets: push the rocker switch again to make the brush strip disappear into the nozzle housing. Hard floor nozzle (specific types only) -- The hard floor nozzle is designed for gentle cleaning of hard floors. Accessories 1 You can connect the crevice tool (1), the small nozzle (2) or the small brush (3) directly to the handgrip or to the tube. -- Use the crevice tool to clean narrow corners or hard-to-reach places. -- Use the small nozzle to clean small areas, e.g. the seats of chairs and sofas. -- Use the small brush nozzle to clean computers, bookshelves etc. 8 English English Accessory holder 1 2 Snap the accessory holder onto the handgrip. Store accessories in the accessory holder by pushing them into the holder.To detach the accessories, pull them out of the holder.
