© If the caller complains that your voice is hard to hear, press VOLUME (v) to decrease the speaker volume. ° If the handset is on the base unit, you may switch to the handset by lifting it up. © The line indicator shows the line condition (p. 19). To put a call on hold Press I hold I. © The SP-PHONE indicator light goes out and the line indicator flashes, o After 6 minutes, warning tones will sound every 10-15 seconds. After a total of 10 minutes, the call will be disconnected. To release the hold Press the line button. o If another phone is connected on the same line (p. 36), you can also release the hold by lifting its handset. You may answer a second call on the other line while keeping the present call on hold. See page 27. Storing Phone Numbers in Memory You can store up to 10 phone numbers in the handset. The dialing buttons {(0) to ®) function as memory stations. The TALK indicator light must be off before programming. Press I PROGRAM I. © The TALK indicator flashes. Enter a phone number up to 16 digits. © If you misdial, press IPROGRAMI to end storing, then start from step 1. Press j AUTO I. Press a memory station number ((O] to [9]). © A confirmation tone sounds.* © To store other numbers, repeat steps 1 through 4. TALK Indicator Memory Station Numbers A REDIAL/PAUSE I IPROGRAMI I A UTO I © If a pause is required for dialing, I REDIAL/PAUSE I can be stored in a phone number counting as one digit (p. 32). *What the confirmation tone means 1 beep: The new number is stored. 2 beeps: The number is the same as the previously stored one. 22 To erase a stored number Press iPROGRAMl o- [ AUTOl o the memory station number ((oj to ®) for the phone number to be erased. Dialing a Stored Number -j Press I TALK 1- Press I AUTO). 3 Press the memory station number (IB to ®). o The stored number is dialed. e Numbers stored in the handset can only be dialed by the handset. Using the Other Line During a Conversation While Someone Else is Using a Line (Simultaneous Base/Handset Calling) The handset and base unit can be used at the same time on separate telephone lines. To make a call with the handset *4 Ex: If the base unit is using LINE 1 ' Press the other line button (LINE 2) on the handset. o The LINE 2 indicator lights. Dial a telephone number. To hang up, press I TALK I or place the handset on the base unit. You can answer the second call while holding the first call. You can also make a call without terminating the first call using the handset. You may delete the two tones (incoming call tone) by programming. | See page 35.
