It is designed to convert a wide range of computer video resolutions to HDTV resolutions compatible with television HDMI inputs. The 1385 is the most practical PC to TV converter available, offering vital features such as overscan and scaling, eliminating the need for complex third party video software on the source computer. The output video and audio signals are fully HDCP and HDMI compliant. Other convenient features include a separate digital audio input and output (Toslink™), and stereo analog audio input and output jacks (3.5mm). Audio Authority offers an extensive line of audio and video switchers, converters,distribution amps and extenders available for purchase online at or through authorized dealers. 1.1 SYSTEM FEATURES • Automatically detects the resolution of the connected display • Overscan, aspect ratio, and other scaling adjustments • Compliant with HDMI 1.2, HDCP 1.1 and DVI 1.0 specifications • Outputs HDTV video resolutions from 480i to 1080p @ 60Hz • Outputs computer resolutions up to WUXGA (see page 9 for list) • OSD user interface (On Screen Display) • Contrast, brightness, hue, saturation, sharpness & RGB level adjustments • Separate digital and analog audio inputs and outputs • HDMI digital audio embedded • Locking power connector ensures system stability 2.0 CHECKING PACKAGE CONTENTS Before connecting the 1385, please make certain the following items are in the shipping carton: • 1385 Converter/Scaler • 5V DC Power Adapter • User Manual Note: Please retain the original packing material in case you need to return the unit. If you find any items are missing, contact Audio Authority immediately. Have the model number and invoice available for reference when you call. 3.0 INSTALLATION By default the 1385 automatically detects the resolution of the HDMI display device; however you can manually select a resolution using the OSD menu structure. See page 9 for a listing of supported resolutions. Leave the resolution in the “native” position on the OSD menu to enable automatic detection. Please study the panel drawings below and become familiar with the signal inputs, outputs, operational controls and the location of the power connector. 4.0 CONNECTING THE HARDWARE • Turn off the computer or other VGA source and the HDMI display. • Connect the appropriate PC, HDMI and audio cables: first between the source PC and the 1385 and then between the 1385 and the display. • Plug in the provided AC adapter: first to the 1385 and then to an active AC power source. • Turn on the computer that is the video source and the HDMI TV or display device. (The 1385 has no power switch and begins to function as soon as the AC adapter has been connected.)
