1A Quick Installation Guide Bluetooth® 2.0 USB Adapter Model # ABT-U200 Package Content: • Bluetooth® 2.0 USB Adapter • Driver & Utility CD • Quick Installation Guide Section 1 This Quick Installation Guide only provides basic instructions for installing the product. For detailed information on using this product, please refer to the User’s Manual on the supplied CD. Installing the Software in Windows XP/2000/ME Note: Do not connect the USB Bluetooth Adapter to your computer before you install the provided software. You will be prompted to plug the device during the installation. Step 1 Insert the Bluetooth software installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. When the auto-run screen appears, select Install Utility and Driver for XP/2K/ME Note: If the auto-run window does not appear automatically, go to Start -> Run and type D:\Utility\XP_2K_ME\Setup.exe (where D is the letter of your CD-ROM drive) then click OK. Step 2 When the welcome screen appears, click Next. Then click Next on the two screens that follow, then click Install. Windows XP/2000 Users: When the Driver Signature Notice window appears, click OK. Currently Microsoft does not have a certification program in place for Bluetooth devices. As a result, at this time it is not possible to piovide certified drivers for Bluetooth devices. In the event that Microsoft implements a Windows Logo certification process for Bluetooth devices, signed drivers will be made available. T o avoid receiving several prompts for signed drivers during the installation process, select OK to disable unsigned driver warnings, and pioceed with the installation. The default warning option will be re-enabled at the completion of the installation of the Bluetooth drivers. This option is an effort to provide the best customer experience while using this product. If you select Cancel the installation will continue without disabling the warnings and you will be required to select Continue at each prompt to proceed with the installation. If............bk:..........1 i ] Step 3 When prompted, plug your Bluetooth USB adapter into an available USB port on your computer and click OK. Windows 2000/ME Users: You may be prompted to restart your computer a few times during the installation. Ignore the prompts until the installation is complete. Step 4 At the end, click Finish to complete the installation. Windows 2000/ME Users: At the end of the installation, you will be prompted to restart your computer. Click OK to restart. The Initial Bluetooth Configuration Wizard will automatically launch to guide you through the initial configuration. Step 5 Click Next at the Initial Bluetooth Configuration Wizard screen. Step 6 Enter a unique name to identify your computer and select a computer type, then click Next. Step 7 Click Next at the following screen Step 8 This screen allows you select the services you want to provide to other Bluetooth devices. If you wish to have all services available, make sure that they are all checked and click Next. Step 9 Click Skip at the following screen. Initial Bluetooth Configuration Wizard Initial Bluetooth Configuration Wizard This wizard can help you setup connections to Bluetooth computers, phones, headsets, etc. To setup a connection now, put the other device in pairing mode, and then click Next (See the other device's documentation for assistance in preparing it to accept a connection). Please refer to the manual located on the CD for detailed instructions on configuring and using the Bluetooth USB adapter. Initial Bluetooth Configuration Wizard Initial Bluetooth Configuration Wizard Congratulations! Basic Bluetooth configuration is complete. You may begin using this computer's Bluetooth features. To re-configure Bluetooth with the assistance of a wizard, select the "Bluetooth Setup Wizard." from any of the Bluetooth icons or menu items. To access the Bluetooth configuration panel, select "Advanced Configuration" from any of the Bluetooth icons or menu items.
