This document contains the most recent product information pertaining to X.25 version B.11.31.03,
which is supported on the HP-UX 11i v3 operating system.
Announcement
This revision of X.25 software, J2793B (B.11.31.03) is supported on systems running HP-UX 11i
v3 operating system.
The X.25 link implements the CCITT X.25 recommendations and contains the components necessary
to connect an HP Integrity system to a public or private packet switching network conforming to
the CCITT X.25 recommendation (1980, 1984 or 1988), or to another system in a back-to-back
configuration.
What is in this version
This version of X.25 includes defect fixes and enhancements.
The following enhancement is provided in this version of X.25:
Support for X.25 over TCP (XOT).
X.25 over TCP (XOT) is based on RFC 1613 (Cisco Systems X.25 over TCP (XOT) ). Configuring
XOT allows X.25 layer 3 to connect to TCP/IP stack instead of LAP-B and provides X.25 functionality
on top of a TCP/IP infrastructure.

Important
X.25 on Integrity servers may generate an MCA on the RS-530/RS-449 interface of an RAD switch.

This version of X.25 (B.11.31.03) is supported on the following HP-UX systems:

rp(8400), rp(8420), rp(7420), rp(7410), rp(7405), rp(4440), rp(3440), rp(3410)
•
Integrity Superdomes, Integrity Superdome 2 servers, Integrity i2 servers
NOTE:
The HP X.25 HW card (J3525A) is not supported with Integrity i2 servers.

rx(9610), rx(8640), rx(8620), rx(7640), rx(7620), rx(5670), rx(4640), rx(3600), rx(6600),
rx(2600), rx(2620), rx(1600), rx(1620), cx(2600), cx(2620), rx(2660).
Known problem and workaround
Problem
If you use an HP X.25 2-port PCI card (product number J3525A) in some of the Integrity servers,
the system might generate a Machine Check Abort (MCA).
