What is new in this release
The following information describes the updates to the HP-UX-based Gigabit ethernet driver called
igelan. The GigEther-01 software bundle, which is loaded into the operating environment (OE),
contains the igelan driver.
The March 2011 version of the HP-UX 11i v3 GigEther-01 software bundle contains the following
defect fixes:

When GigEther-01 B.11.31.0909 bundle is installed, "Inbound Octets"
are wrongly calculated in the Igelan driver.

When the lanadmin(1M) and netmgr(1M) commands are used to display
the 'VPD' information of LOM in BL860c and BL870c, it displays an error
message.

Igelan driver does not handle the packets properly when the number of
transmit descriptors required to process the packets is less than what is
available with the card. This can result in a system crash.
When the guest vNIC is created over Igelan interface, the following issues can occur:

Igelan driver holds lock for long time during the AVIO packet processing.
This can result in the HPVM host to crash.

Igelan driver receives packets from the AVIO guest and simultaneously
handles “reset request” from the AVIO guest. Due to an issue in the locking
mechanism, interface pointers can get reset to null. This can result in the
HPVM host to crash.

HPVM guests with AVIO networking receives duplicate multicast and
broadcast packets from the host.
