Never perform any maintenance or assembly procedures on this machine while the engine is running. 1. Place the blower upright on the ground or on a sturdy work surface. 2. Push the wide sweeper nozzle (5) over the straight tube (4) lining up the locking pins. 3. Rotate the nozzle tube clockwise locking it into place. 4. Push the assembled blower tube over the discharge port (17). 5. With the locking pins lined up, rotate the straight tube (4) clockwise to lock it into position. Before Use IMPORTANT. This machine is fitted with an impeller which runs at high speeds. Ensure this instruction manual is thoroughly read AND understood. Incorrect operation may cause serious injury. Mixing the fuel CAUTION. Use of pure fuel is prohibited strictly! ENGINE FUEL: MIX AT 40:1 (40 parts unleaded fuel to 1 part 2-stroke oil) IMPORTANT. Use good quality air cooled 2-stroke engine oil. This product is powered by a 2-stroke engine and requires pre-mixing fuel with 2-stroke oil. 1. Use fresh unleaded petrol. You must use 100% synthetic oil specifically made for heavily stressed two-stroke engines. 2. Mix the petrol and oil in an approved container. Never mix fuel directly in the blower fuel tank. WARNING. Never use any type of pre-mixed fuel/oil direct from fuel stations. This may include special blends intended for use in mopeds, motorcycles, etc. 3. Mix the fuel thoroughly and also each time before fuelling. 4. Always pre-mix in small quantities. Never mix quantities larger than what will be used in a 30 day period. Note. Do not store petrol in plastic containers. Keep fuel out of the reach of children. Note. 2 stroke fuel has a limited shelf life of approximately 3 - 4 months. To avoid possible issues with starting and running the machine, the fuel should be changed at regular intervals. Filling the fuel tank WARNING. Always shut off the engine before fuelling. Never add fuel to a machine with a running or hot engine. Move at least 9 m (30 ft.) away from the re-fuelling site before starting engine. Do not smoke when re-fuelling or operating the blower. WARNING. Do not use another mixture ratio other than 40:1 and never use pure fuel. Do not use fuel that is more than 2-3 months old. Empty the tank during longer breaks and fill it up again as soon you wish to use the blower again. Note. It is normal for smoke to be emitted from a new engine during and after first use. 1. Place the blower upright on the ground or on a sturdy bench and wipe any debris from around the fuel cap (7). 2. Unscrew the fuel cap (7) and pour the mixture into the tank using a funnel (not supplied). 3. Be careful not to spill any mixture. If this happens, wipe the spill with a clean rag. 4. Start the engine at least three metres away from the area where the fuel tank has been filled up in order to avoid any risk of fire. • Danger of fire and burn injuries. • Always use extreme care when handling fuel! Fuel is highly flammable. • Never attempt to fuel the blower if the fuel system components are damaged or are leaking. • Never attempt the refuel the engine while it is running or still warm, allow it to cool before fuelling. • Never smoke or light any fires near the blower or fuels. • Always transport and store fuels in an approved container. • Never place flammable material close the engine muffler. • Do not use petrol which contains ethanol or methanol as it may damage the fuel lines and other engine parts. • Mix only enough fuel for your immediate needs. If fuel must be stored longer than 30 days, it should first be treated with a stabilizer or similar product. Fitting the safety straps (shoulder and waist) IMPORTANT. Safety straps must be completely adjusted before initially starting the blower. IMPORTANT. Ensure the straps are always used to support the blower during use. The blower must be used with the shoulder straps (13) and waist strap (18) provided. Note. Adjust the straps first with the device in the off position. 1. Place the shoulder straps on your shoulders and fasten the waist strap by pushing the buckles together. 2. Set the belt lengths tight for greater safety and comfort during use. Operation IMPORTANT. Do not allow the machine to operate continuously for a long time. Keep it switched off for 20 minutes for every 30 minutes of operation. Total operation time in a day should be less than two hours. Starting the blower To start the engine, proceed as follows: For cold starting: 1. Manually press the primer (9) 5 to 6 times or until there are no air bubbles visible in the fuel discharge line. This will indicate that the carburettor is full 2. Close the air filter damper (16). 3. Move the On/Off Button (12) to ON (I) position. 4. Lock the throttle into mid way ‘Start’ position by holding in the throttle trigger lock-off (2) and squeezing the throttle trigger (1) completely in. Release the throttle trigger lock-off (2) first, and then release the throttle trigger (1). Note. The throttle trigger (1) will now be in the mid way ‘Start’ posit...
