Attach rotary snow plow to tractor as shown in Fig. 1. Refer to Quick-Hitch instructions in tractor manual. NOTE: Before attaching snow plow install woodruff key in slot in snow plow drive shaft and place the drive sheave on the drive shaft with hub of sheave to outside as shown in Fig. 2. The snow plow drive sheave is part No. GSA21 with a %" bore. Be sure that the alien set screw is tightened securely. 2. Mount spout (1, Fig. 1) to body as shown. Turn spout so that it faces directly forward, making sure rim on spout slides underneath hold down bracket (2, Fig. 1). Tighten bracket. 3. The cord rod assembly (3, Fig. 1) mounts into tube on i body assembly as shown, using one washer and two cotter pins furnished. 4. Mount cord strap (4, Fig. 1) to tractor handle as shown. 5. Thread spout cord (5, Fig. 1) around cord strap (4) and through cord rod assembly (3) as shown, keeping two balls (6) together, winding cord around screw, and clamping cord end (A) to spout at (7, Fig. 1) making sure loop end extends approximately 3” from clamp as shown in Fig. 1. Thread cord end (B) through loop in cord end (A), draw up tight to prevent slack in spout cord and knot securely. (Be sure spout faces directly forward when mounting cord). Fig. 1 BELT AND PULLEY ARRANGEMENT 1. Remove transmission pulley from tractor and replace with S1A86 pulley (%'' bore) (1, Fig. 2) supplied with rotary snow plow. 2. Place 47" belt (2, Fig. 2) on inside groove of engine pulley and on transmission pulley as shown. Be sure transmission pulley lines up with inside groove of engine pulley. 3. Place 43" belt (3, Fig, 2) on middle groove of engine pulley and on drive sheave of snow plow as shown. Belt should run under idler pulley as shown. Check to see that drive sheave and idler pulley line up with middle groove of engine pulley. 4. Place idler clutch rod guide assembly (4, Fig. 2) on idler clutch rod (5, Fig. 2). Use spring (6, Fig. 2) and set collar (7, Fig. 2) and assemble to rod as shown. 5. Mount idler clutch rod assembly to lower clutch lever (8, Fig. 2) and idler lever assembly (9, Fig. 2) as shown. 6. Adjust belt tension on spring (6) with set collar. To avoid damaging belt use minimum tension required to drive the rotor. 7. A special transmission idler stop, supplied with the rotary snow plow, is to be attached to the tractor idler pulley (10, Fig. 2). Bolt stop to the engine side of the idler lever so that stop rests on engine base when tractor clutch is disengaged. 8. Slide belt guard assembly (11, Fig. 2) into position as shown with slotted lip of guard assembly under belt guard clamp. Tighten bolts. OPERATION For the convenience of the operator the directional spout is controlled from the tractor handles. To change the direction of snow throwing pull back on either of the balls on the spout cord. The angle for throwing the snow can be adjusted by changing the pitch of the spout extension assembly (A, Fig. 2). To change angle loosen wing nut on spout extension adjusting rod, set extension to desired angle, and re-tighten nut. Rotary snow plow shoes (B, Fig. 2) are located at either side of plow body. To adjust for height or compensate for uneven surfaces loosen bolts, set to desired height, and retighten bolts. Should the rotary snow plow become overloaded and engine speed decrease stop the forward motion of the tractor until the rotor clears itself, /■ V.y-' LUBRICATION Lubricate the two grease fittings on plow each time plow is used. Occasionally grease the rim of the snow plow spout so that it turns freely. ROTOR CHAIN ADJUSTMENT To tighten rotor chain, loosen nuts (8-9, Fig. 1) on both sides of body sufficiently to make adjustment. Loosen hex nut on chain tightener at (10, Fig. 1) on both sides of body. Move chain tighteners in direction to tighten chain. First, adjust chain tightener at chain side, then tighten hex nut on chain tightener at chain side. Then adjust chain tightener on other side of snow plow body, making sure rotor is parallel to back of snow plow body and chain is straight on both sprockets. Tighten hex nut on chain tightener. Follow by tightening nuts at (9) and (8) securely. Do not apply excessive tension on chain. SPECIAL BELT STOP ADJUSTMENT Before starting rotary snow plow be sure that all belt stops are within Vs" of the belts. There are three belt stops around the tractor engine pulley. This adjustment ^ is iniportant for proper idling.
