This appliance is designed for processing normal household quantities in the home or similar quantities in non-industrial applications. Non-industrial applications include e.g. use in employee kitchens in shops, offices, agricultural and other commercial businesses, as well as use by guests in boarding houses, small hotels and similar dwellings. Use the appliance for processing normal quantities of food for domestic use. The appliance is only suitable for pressing the juice out of citrus fruits, e.g. oranges, grapefruits, lemons. It must not be used for processing other objects or substances. Please keep the Operating instructions in a safe place. If passing on the appliance to a third party, always include the Operating instructions. , General safety instructions Electric shock risk The appliance must not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children. Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate. Do not use the appliance if the power cord and/or appliance are damaged. Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning. en Do not place the power cord over sharp edges or hot surfaces. To prevent injury, a damaged power cord must be replaced by the manufacturer or his customer service or a similarly qualified person. Fig. 1 a Motor unit b Container, capacity 0.8 l c Strainer basket d Pressing cone e Lid Operating the appliancePreparation • Clean the individual components beforeusing for the first time. • Unwind the power cord. • Place the appliance on a smooth, clean surface. • Assemble the appliance (Fig. 1): – Place the container on the motor unit and rotate in a clockwise direction until it locks into position. – Insert the strainer basket and rotate gently until it is situated fully on the container. – Attach the pressing cone. Pressing fruit • Press halved citrus fruit onto the pressingcone and hold fruit in position. The citrus press starts running when the fruit ispressed onto the pressing cone (Fig. 2). Note: The pressing cone may rotate in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. The direction of rotation may change while the fruit is beingpressed. If excessive pressure is applied, the pressing cone stops. Reduce the pressure until the pressing cone restarts. • To switch off the appliance, reduce thepressure on the pressing cone. The citrus press switches off automatically. • Empty the full strainer basket. Cleaning and servicingWarning! Never immerse the baseunit in liquids and donot clean in the dishwasher. Do not use a steam cleaner! Surfaces may be damaged. Donot use abrasive cleaningagents. • Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth, if required use a little washing-up liquid. Dry immediately. • The container, strainer basket, filter insert, pressing cone and lid are dishwasher-proof. Storage • Assemble the citrus press and attach the lid.
