Children may not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance may not be carried out by children without supervision. Do not use if the power cord or appliance show any signs of damage. Unplug after every use or if defective. To avoid potential hazards, repairs such as replacing a damaged cord, must only be carried out by our customer service personnel. The power cord . must not touch hot parts; . must not be pulled over sharp edges; . must not be used as a carrying handle. The heating element will become hot. Hold the appliance only by its handle. Only use on dry hair; under no circumstances use the appliance on artificial hair. Place the appliance on heat- resistant surfaces only. Avoid any skin contact. Do not use near water contained in bath tubs, sinks or other containers. Risk of fatal injury! Never allow the appliance to come into contact with water. Even an appliance that has been switched off poses a danger; therefore unplug the appliance after every use or when interrupted in its use. Installing a ground fault circuit interrupter up to 30 mA in the house offers additional protection. Please consult an electrician. Risk of suffocation! Storage bag, heat-resistant NANO-CERAMIC COATING WITH TOURMALINE The heating plates have a nano-ceramic coating with tourmaline. This produces a smooth, even surface. The advantages of this coating are: - It improves the sliding action across the hair. - The plates heat up much faster and stay at a constant temperature suitable for hairstyling. OPERATION Plug in the appliance and place it on a level, heat-resistant surface or on the storage bag. Turn on with ON/OFF switch. LEDs one and two will glow and the third will flash. The default temperature setting of the appliance is 150°C. As soon as the set temperature is reached, the LEDs will glow continuously. You can now start curling or straightening your hair. When you have finished curling or straightening your hair, switch the appliance off by using the ON/OFF switch, unplug it and let the appliance to cool down before storing. SETTING THE TEMPERATURE By pressing + or - button you can change the temperature setting in 25°C steps from approx. 100 - 200°C. The current temperature is indicated by the glowing LEDs. The LED for the set temperature flashes until this temperature is reached. If the temperature falls momentarily during use, the appliance will heat back up again (LED flashes). NOTE: If you switch the appliance off and then on again, the temperature defaults to the factory setting (approx. 150°C). CURLING FUNCTION (Figs. A-B) The appliance must be closed and locked. Comb the hair and section it into even strands (about 2-3 cm wide). The finer the strands, the tighter the curl, as all the hair comes into contact with the heated curling tongs. Open the curling tongs by pressing on the clip. Insert the strand of hair and close the clip again. Now pull the curling tongs down to the ends of the hair and turn to wind up the strand. Leave the curling tongs in the hair for a few seconds to shape the curl. Release the strand of hair by repeatedly opening the lever with small movements while removing the curling tongs sideway. NOTE: Make sure that the curl is not pulled straight when removing the curling tongs. Tip: Allow hair to cool completely before styling. Give your hair extra volume by running your fingers through the curls. STRAIGHTENING FUNCTION (Figs. C-D) Heat treatment should only be applied to healthy hair. It is not recommended for weak hair or hair that has been recently bleached, as this may have weakened it. Use the hair straightener only on dry hair. The appliance is suitable for both long and short hair. Unlock the two heating plates by setting the slide button g to . Comb the hair and section it into even strands (about 5 cm wide). Starting from the roots, place a strand of hair between the plates. (Fig. C) Press the plates together using the finger protectors f and pull down gently and evenly toward the ends of the hair. (Fig. D) Treat all strands in the same manner. Allow hair to cool completely before styling. NOTE: Never leave in one place longer than 2 seconds. AUTOMATIC SWITCH OFF The curling tong with hair straightener has an automatic switch off safety feature. After approx. 30 minutes the appliance automatically switches to standby mode, only the third LED glows. To reactivate the appliance, you can press the + or - button. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING Disconnect the mains plug before cleaning and storing. Once you have finished, switch off the appliance, unplug it and let it cool down.
