must not be pulled over sharp edges; . must not be used as a carrying handle. The heating element will become hot. Hold the appliance only by its handle. Only use on dry hair; under no circumstances use the appliance on artificial hair. Place the appliance on heat- resistant surfaces only. Avoid any skin contact. Do not use near water contained in bath tubs, sinks or other containers. Risk of fatal injury! Never allow the appliance to come into contact with water. Even an appliance that has been switched off poses a danger; therefore unplug the appliance after every use or when interrupted in its use. Installing a ground fault circuit interrupter up to 30 mA in the house offers additional protection. Please consult an electrician. Risk of suffocation! LED temperature indicator f. Housing g. Ceramic-coated heating plates h. Ionization hole i. Sliding button for locking CERAMIC COATING The heating plates have a ceramic coating. This produces a smooth, even surface. The advantages of this coating are: - It improves the sliding action across the hair. - The plates heat up much faster (in about 1 min) and stay at a constant temperature suitable for hairstyling. OPERATION Place the hair straightener on a flat, heat- resistant surface and plug it in (Fig 2.). Turn on the on/off switch c. The first two LEDs will glow and the third will flash. The standard temperature of the appliance is 160.C. As soon as the set temperature is reached, the LEDs will glow continuously (Fig 3.). You can now start straightening your hair. When you have finished straightening your hair, switch the appliance off by using the power switch, unplug it and let the appliance cool down before storing. SETTING THE TEMPERATURE By pressing the + or – button you can change the standard temperature in 20.C steps from approx. 120.C -200.C (Fig 4.). The current temperature is indicated by the glowing LEDs. The LED of the set temperature flashes until the temperature is reached. If the temperature falls momentarily during use, the appliance will heat back up again. NOTE: If you switch the appliance off and then on again, the temperature defaults to the factory setting (approx. 160.C). AUTOMATIC SWITCH OFF This hair straightener has an automatic switch off safety feature. After approx. 60 minutes the appliance automatically switches to standby mode. Only the third LED glows. To reactivate the appliance, you can: - Switch it off and on again with switch, or press the + or – button. - Unplug the appliance and plug it again. STRAIGHTENING FUNCTION Heat treatment should only be applied to healthy hair. It is not recommended for weak hair or hair that has been recently bleached, as this may have weakened it. Use the hair straightener only on dry hair. Unlock both heating plates, set slide button i (Fig 1.). Once the hair straightener has reached the set temperature, divide the hair into strands, select one strand of hair and place it between the plates. Hold the plates closed for a few seconds, pulling downward from the roots to the tip, in a single even movement the strand of hair should be kept straight when doing this to prevent it from becoming wavy. It may be necessary to repeat this procedure two or three times on medium- length or long hair (Fig 5.). When somebody else is helping you with the hair straightening, the wide support area will help them to keep the plates closed. Repeat the process with the rest of the hair, working strand by strand. NOTE: Never leave in one place longer than 2 seconds. IONIZATION This hair straightener contains an ion generator. Ions are naturally occurring electrically charged particles. The ionizing feature reduces static in your hair, which helps to make it sleeker, softer and shinier. - To switch ionization on/off, hold down the Ionisation button for at least 3 seconds. The ion generator can be used with any heat setting. If ionization is activated, the button glows orange and a low crackling noise can be heard (Fig 6.). MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING Disconnect the mains plug before cleaning and storing. Once you have finished, switch it to the “Off” position, unplug it and let it cool down. Make sure that the plates are completely cold before cleaning the appliance. Wipe the outer casing down with a dry cloth. The plates can be cleaned with a slightly dampened cloth to remove the remains of any hairdressing products. Never immerse the appliance into water. Do not use a steam cleaner. Use the Lock/Unlock to close two plates. Do not store the appliance away if it is still hot. ADVICE ON DISPOSAL: Our goods come in optimised packaging.
