Install or replace two new batteries, making sure the polarities (+ and -) on the battery match the polarities on the case. • Replace battery cover. • If the Low Battery indicator “ “ appears on the display, both batteries must be replaced. • “AAA” alkaline batteries or equivalent are suitable for this blood pressure meter. Attaching the Wrist Cuffand Posture DuringMeasurement • The blood pressure is measured at the wrist. Therefore, rolling up the sleeve is no longer necessary. • Wrap the wrist cuff around your left wrist with the display panel on the inside of the wrist. • Pull the wrist cuff to fit wrist size and fasten velcro. Wrist circumference: 5.4-9in. 2 "AAA" type battery Rest left elbow on a table so that the cuff is at heart level. Relax the lower arm across the table and remain still. Perform measurements in either a seated or reclining posture with the left palm turned upward. The hard carry case should be used as an arm rest, with rubber grips facing down against the table. 1/2 inch Carry Case 4 Measurement NOTE: Unit measures on inflation. • To start the measurement Press the “ON/OFF” switch. • Initial display. • Pumping. • Measuring and Beeping sounds. • Once the blood-pressure measurement has stabilized, pressurization is discontinued and the air in the cuff is automatically let out. • The buzzer sounds for about 2 seconds, and the high and low blood pressure are respectively displayed one above the other. • Unless an error is generated, the measurement results are automatically stored in memory (Up to 42 sets of results can be stored ). When there are already 42 sets of results in memory, the oldest one is automatically erased and overwritten with the newest. 5 • Blood pressure values and pulse rate are alternately displayed. The unit will continue to display the measurement until power is turned off. • Turn Power off Press the “ON/OFF” switch to turn off. NOTE: To discontinue a measurement for any reason, press the “Power/Start” switch. This causes the “wrist cuff” to rapidly deflate. Subsequent Measurement When a measurement needs to be made again, the time between 2 measurements must be at least 10 minutes. Automatic Power OFF Function If the unit is left on after measurement, an “Automatic Power OFF Function” turns the power off after approximately 3 minutes. To continue with another measurement press the “ON/OFF” switch to turn the unit on. 6 Setting the Clock Enter the setting mode by pressing and holding the MEMORY key for over three seconds. The display will show a blinking year. Press the ON/OFF key to adjust the year when it is blinking. Then press and release the MEMORY key again, the month will apear and blink to be adjusted, then the date, hour and minute will follow up as you press and release the MEMORY key again. Adjust the clock by pressing the MEMORY key to adjust the values of the month, date, hour, and minute when they are blinking. 7 Memory Recall • You can recall stored data by pressing the “Memory Recall” switch at any time, EXCEPT while taking a measurement. • Up to 42 sets of measurement results can be stored in memory. Memory cell No. 1 is always used to store the newest set of results. • When pressing the “Memory Recall” switch, the memory cell number is displayed. The stored measurement results (systolic/diastolic blood pressure) are then displayed. The display will show the memorized pressure and pulse value switching back and forth. • If the “Memory Recall” switch is pressed again, the prior measurements are displayed in the order they were taken. Memory Clear Function You may erase one or all records in the memory. •Press and release MEMORY key to choose the record that you wish to delete. •Press and hold the ON/OFF key until the display shows dEL. •Delete one record: Press and release the power key.
