About the keyboard The Lenovo® USB Smartcard Keyboard (hereafter called the keyboard) is a full-sized keyboard equipped with a smart card reader and the ThinkVantage® button to enhance your computing convenience and security. The keyboard enables authorized users’ single login to the computer and prevents unauthorized access to the network of an organization. Typically, the user-access verification of the keyboard secures the environment for transactions performed on both public and private networks. The ThinkVantage button on the keyboard provides quick access to the ThinkVantage Productivity Center program, the Lenovo Care. program, the Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox program, or the Windows System Information window. The option package contains: • Lenovo USB Smartcard Keyboard • Software and User Guide Disc • Setup and warranty poster Product description This topic provides general descriptions about main features of the keyboard. Note: Before using the ThinkVantage button, ensure that you have installed the Lenovo USB Smartcard Keyboard hotkey driver. © Copyright Lenovo 2009, 2013 • Microsoft® Windows® XP and Microsoft Windows Vista®: Pressing the ThinkVantage button opens the ThinkVantage Productivity Center program or the Lenovo Care program, which contains comprehensive help and information for your computer. If the computer does not come with either of the programs, pressing the ThinkVantage button opens the Windows System Information window. • Microsoft Windows 7: Pressing the ThinkVantage button opens one of the following programs. If the computer does not come with any of the following programs, pressing the ThinkVantage button opens the Windows System Information window. – Lenovo SimpleTap: This program provides you with a quick way to customize some basic computer settings. – Lenovo Solution Center: This program enables you to troubleshoot and resolve computer problems. – Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox: This program enables you to evaluate system performance and diagnose and resolve computer problems. • Microsoft Windows 8 and Microsoft Windows 8.1: Pressing the ThinkVantage button opens the Lenovo Device Experience program.
